An "actor" in Minnesota.
Smoking bans meet play-ful opposition in Minnesota
All the world's a stage at some of Minnesota's bars. A new state ban on smoking in restaurants and other nightspots contains an exception for performers in theatrical productions. So some bars are getting around the ban by printing up playbills, encouraging customers to come in costume, and pronouncing them "actors."
The customers are playing right along, merrily puffing away -- and sometimes speaking in funny accents and doing a little improvisation, too.
Smoking bans at indoor public places are spreading across the land. Are they a good public health measure, or an unreasonable imposition on liberty?

Submitted on March 9th, 2008 by jeyuhasIn Michigan we have had our cigarette taxed over the roof and alcohol is like trying to buy a drink at prohibition prices. All for taxes that has done what? They should tax my lack of eye sight cause I just don't see it solving anything. The old democrate philosophy: tax, tax, and still tax and spend. Why? Because we smoke and drink. How about the gum chewers or people who get haircuts or idiot driver's.The point is, why single out a particular group of citizens to pay for the bulk? I did give up alcohol.
The infamous Drew Carey clip on smoking...
Submitted on March 8th, 2008 by Chuck_JohnsonThis video is pretty famous in libertarian circles. It breaks my heart.
Here's the famous quote: "I'm just a citizen exercising his right to harm his body... We have enough of a nanny government already."
Well said, Drew. Well said.
