What if this rings at 3 a.m.?
Which candidate do you want answering the crisis phone?
Which candidate would you want leading the country in a crisis? Barack Obama says he has judgement. Hillary Clinton says she has experience. John McCain says he has even more experience.
Given all the crises of the last eight years -- 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina among them -- emergency management is a big part of being president. Who is best prepared to take the helm?

Seems to me that Obama was
Submitted on March 5th, 2008 by oldgoatSeems to me that Obama was the only one that was able to make the right decision on Iraq which doesn't say much for the other two. Also people might want to go back and listen to what McCain said about how easy Iraq would be in the beginning and what he is saying now. I think on youtube is called McCain vs McCain.

Submitted on March 4th, 2008 by Chuck_JohnsonOn the issue of dashiki, I don't really have a problem with it. I don't think it was malicious. I think it was just a clever way of phrasing something so as not to sound cliched. Technically, he was wearing a dashiki.
I find it interesting that it is the Democrats that keep introducing race. I thought we Republicans were supposed to be doing that....
Whenever somebody uses the phrase Barack Hussein Obama, just remind them of what Karl Rove said. "It helps, not hurts him."

"Empty dashiki?"
Submitted on March 4th, 2008 by JoelThis is not a slam or slur on my friend Ben, for whom I have immense respect -- even if we disagree heartily on the issues.
That said, I'm disappointed in James Lewis' use of the phrase "empty dashiki" in the take above. If Obama were running on a black power platform -- or heck, if he made a practice of wearing dashikis -- I guess I could see it. Be he isn't, he doesn't and I don't.
Lewis is making a point that is worth discussing and debating -- his view that Obama doesn't have enough experience to hold the job of president. But Lewis' dismissiveness is made in racial terms, and it's hard not to see his word choice as being malicious at worst and thoughtless at best.
We can do better in our discourse.
Hillary May Well Be Right...
Submitted on March 4th, 2008 by Chuck_JohnsonBut she looks like she's endorsing John McCain instead of taking on Barack Obama.
Does anyone seriously believe that someone's going to be called at 3AM for more government?
What else does she have to offer?
She hasn't been involved in the decisive struggles of the later quarter of the 20th century, as John McCain has.
And the Clinton record on foreign policy is exceptionally weak.

John McCain
Submitted on March 4th, 2008 by AnonymousJohn McCain is the only one of the three capable of making a decent decision if the red phone rings. Hillary has no military experience and her draft dodger husband would be no help. Barrack has no experience in these matters either. In fact in any matter dealing with important issues in this country McCain is the only reasonable candidate.
Both Clinton and Obama would drive us even further in debt than we already are. This country can not continue to be all things to all people. The first obligation of the federal government is to be the defender of the American people, not the provider for them.
