Just because my mom was a heroin addict doesn't mean that I will be influenced to do the same. In fact, I used the pain and hardship that I literally watched with my own eyes to decide for myself that I would not be influenced by my mother to do drugs of any kind.
So to answer your question, yes you can be influenced by what other people do and say. I just think that as hard as it is to believe, you can actually disagree with someone even if you have been around them for 20 years....or your whole life......Go Obama!!!!!!
Yes I do believe you can study something for 20 years and not believe in it, mostly because Obama's speech on race proves he is not a black supremest like his preacher.
Why does it even matter? His pastor was mostly right anyway: Blacks and Whites have a different culture, just look at half time shows put on by the two. So why does it matter so much? Besides, by saying you are against, him, does that mean you are against him or black supremacy? If you are against black supremacy does that mean you are for white supremacy? That's not much better.
We've had white supremacy for how long and look where we are in this world: our economy is in the hole, we're stuck in Iraq, and the world is laughing at us.
Truth is not so easily defined. All of us have been caught not telling the truth at some point. Are hypocrites to be trusted? Hillary can be trusted whether or not she has (in the past) done or said something that she no longer beleives in. I persnally had faith in some people at one time that I would never even admit to. I am a good person and I can be trusted. Now Obama needs to at least explain why he stayed with his church and pastor knowing him as he did. I think Obama is good man but certainly not presdential material at this point in his life
He obviously is not his pastor, however, 20 years of his sermons certainly will and did has an effect on him. Do you beleive that you can study a subject every week for 20 years and not be influenced????
The summer reduction is just another trinket for you sheep out there. The tax is used to improve roads. Better roads give better gas mileage, so get your 18 cents back and then you lose them due to fuel inefficiency by terrible roads. Next, I too think this election is preselected, no matter what happens McCain is in the white house, they will find a way. If by some slim chance McCain isn't somehow bought into office Obama is the man for the job. One, he is a new face, someone with the least amount of corruption in him. He has good policies, he knows how to raise money by appealing to the people not corporate giants. Hilary on the other hand calls him an elitist when she get big rich companies to support her, Elitist much herself??? Obama is a much better person, he doesn't throw insults, he just wins using his intellect and his policies. Hilary on the other hand throws mud in Obama's face and not in John McCain's. He most annoying argument is the Reverend. Wright case. She says why did you go to him for 20 years? My question to her is Why did you and Bill get counseling from THE Reverend Jeremiah J. Wright when your marriage was in shambles? I'm sure he snuck some racist comments in there, too. Obama is too much of a gentleman to bring this up, just like Clinton lying throughout her campaign. Finally, I ask how do people see a good military commander in Clinton? In one of her speeches she openly says she plans to NUKE Iran, if they attack Isreal, this is with provocation. How is that a good military commander, killing millions of innocent lives and even furthering our environmental destruction? How are you going to criticize Obama when Clinton speaks hypocrisy and stupidity throughout her campaign.
If he had so called poor judgement in sitting in a hatefilled sermon church.I hate to think who he is going to invite to dinner at the white house??? I will leave this to your own imagination, got any guesses?????? /tired of liars too''
-How much does a flag pin mean? Most of the people in the country doesn't wear one.
-He isn't Muslim
-Do you go to church? If so do you believe every single word your pastor speaks? I know I don't.
-His pastor is not him! I know I listen to people's radical ideas and take them as my own with some cooling down a bit. Have you heard Obama himself speak of black supremacy? I haven't. He even agrees that things like minority college scholarships are unfair to white people! Listen to his speeches!
american people you better take the blinders off your eyes! Why can't you see what he really is.This man was in a church for 20 years and denies hearing radical sermons by his pastor. Is this the kind of man you want as our president. You don't go to church to hear hate talk, you go to church to hear the word of God.This man shows me to be a leopard in disguise. He only denies his true feelings about being a racist, muslim anti-american for the sole purpose to become the president. That's why he won't even wear a flag pin.He is going to let all americans downs, both black and white.God save us all
With all the royalties the oil companies are getting, I think it would be a good test period to see which of the two candidates would do something concerning the price of oil per barrel. After all, Senator McCain wants to remove all the subsidies from agriculture and since we can't eat oil, you are going to have to ask yourself, which is more important--eating or driving? Remember farming is based on commodities and futures selling those EXOTIC DERIVATIVES and using convergence marketing where they don't want to deliver on the contracts. It would nice if we could talk about this subject before the election.
Sorry, anon, but Ron Paul doesn't have a chance of beating McCain in November. That has nothing to do with whether he'd be a better president, only a reflection of the fact that he won't actually be president.
On a more serious note, your post is nothing short of slander. The biased media, namely fox, which is straight up propaganda, is biased toward republican and conservative view.
As for ties to terrorists, a name does not indicate terrorism.
I am a mother of twelve children and have worked hard my entire life. I have devoted my life to raising very upstanding and tax paying citizens. The government claims since I have never paid into Social Security, that I can only draw from my husbands account. Yet farmers were allowed to draw Social Security by paying a small amount. How is this fair to working housewive and mothers. This part of the system seems unfair and discriminating.
The problem with the proposal, aside from increase in demand, is that the government doesnt tax based on price. What is the tax, like 15 cents a gallon? If gas is $5 a gallon, the government gets 15 cents. If gas is $10 a gallon, the government gets 15 cents. If you're paying $4 a gallon and the tax is taken away, you're still paying $3.85 for a gallon of gas and in two weeks when the price goes up to $4.20 a gallon, you're back to paying $4.05 a gallon. You'll forget you even got a discount in the first place.
Obama's big thing is to fund raise with just individual average Joes where as Hilary had big business financing her campaign. I think that shows how much the average person supports Obama, therefore is a clear indicter that he would be better off against McCain.
However that is just one factor. There are many more to consider such as rolling with the punches and experience. But Obama, I think, has the popular support.
The only result would be gas would be cheaper.
Forget about all that politico mumbo jumbo about projected political impact and all the adverse effects. The only adverse affect would be that a Repubican thought of it first. So there.
IF THE BIASED MEDIA HAD REPORTED OBAMA'S POOR JUDGMENT BEFORE HALF OF AMERICA HAD ALREADY VOTED, OBAMA WOULD NOT BE IN THIS RACE --- JOHN EDWARDS WOULD BE.
OBAMA HAS TOO MANY TIES TO ANTI-AMERICANS AND TERRORISTS. HE HAS RUN HIS ENTIRE CAMPAIGN ON LIES ABOUT TOO MANY IMPORTANT ISSUES.
BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA CANNOT BE TRUSTED.
Maybe we can still win with a "Clinton/Edwards" ticket.
Isn't part of her 'plan' to make the oil companies pay the tax during the summer hiatus? I think common sense says that the oil companies will just pass that tax along in the price. So, you still pay the tax, but now it goes into the general fund list rather than the highway fund list. Net result, crappier roads and bridges (if that's even possible). Don't be fooled.
The largest problem with the current proposal to temporarily remove the tax on fuel is that it would likely cause an increase in demand. Increased demand leads to higher prices, so the benefits would be diminished. In addition, an eighteen cent savings on a $3.50 gallon of gas would be barely a five percent savings. That amounts to a savings of $3.60 for 20 gallons of gas. Assuming that the price of fuel stays constant at $3.50 a gallon (a highly unlikely scenario), after my $0.18 savings, the new cost of that 20 gallons would be $66.40. I would rather the government keep the billions of dollars they would make over the summer. With that $3.60, I could buy an extra gallon of gas, but just barely.
Mr. Obama of course must have understood Hillary's reasoning. The tax would be removed thru the summer, so amercians like myself could have a few extra bucks. Maybe enough to pay a bill, buy a few extra groceries, or maybe even be treated to a nice meal out. Her long time outlook, was that this would not solve the problem and that the government should work to gether to find a way to make the oil companies lower these prices. Or find other measures to help the everyday people, those of us who are having difficulty trying to pay for our children to have a decent education, food, clothing, groceries, holding on to our homes, finding a way for the everyday low income families to survive. The young children today who for example, work at places like McDonalds, Wendy's, fast food chains, etc. They are trying to better themselves, and yet its costing them almost as much to drive to work as they make?? How can these young adults support themselves and get a college education, with prices the way they are!! Mrs. Clinton, is trying to help by just adding a few dollars a week to allow some of us a meal out, or pay bills. IS that to much to ask, Mr. Obama!!!!
The big six corporate media outlets will choose the next president for us, the brain dead majority sheep will nod their heads and go along. McCain is it; he doesn't have to do anything just sit back and let the media PR firms do their thing (Convince us to buy garbage we don't really want or need). The big six media giants are all owned and supported by the rich commercial interests that sponser them. The poor and middle class will never get someone who cares about them in the executive branch. Sorry that will never change.
What everybody besides Hillary Clinton and John McCain thinks is that reducing the tax would increase demand, which would increase the gas prices to the point you'd never know the tax was taken away. So you'd be depriving the government of revenue -- and driving your children deeper into debt -- all for an ineffective pander.
To Highly Educated consumers Only.Obama says the gas tax releif will not make a differance to the consumer. What do'es your wallet say is good for you?3.65 cents a gallion or 3.38 cent a gallion. You make the call! This is one example of Obama's child like Politics.
