I agree totally- they all want change and say and promise every thing. Nothing Changes- Hillary has had 35 years experience- McCain has had decades--Why do we still have the same problems- year after year? Why is Illegal Immigration destoying our Health Care? Just go to the Local Emergency Room. They get Free Health Care-(-Cost just gets passed on to us) You know Why some of these problems are never fixed--It's for the Latino Vote, it's for the Poor Vote--All at the expense of the ORDINARY Citizen that gets up everyday and goes to WORK.

This is an inflammatory post. Certainly anyone with any acumen can represent our country better than what we have in office now.

Hopefully our country will show some sense and vote for change. Hopefully, integrity will count as well, either Senator Obama or Senator McCain at least have that going for them.

If you want to talk impeachment, our present VP Cheney should be the first to get the boot. The Bush administration is immoral in ways that impact many, many more lives than the Monica scandel. Indeed, what has our country come to?

I could not have expressed my own ideas better than you did! If it is Obama v McCain, I go Obama. Fresh and good face for America. I respect McCain and wish him well. However, I have to go Romney over any Democrat this time. He's the real deal. Solid.

With respect, I don't think the characterization of the two parties is quite right.

As for the most effective way to hold a president accountable, how about the ballot box. Vote the guy out after four years. Vote in legislators more to your liking every two years. Anything else would be less than free or democratic.

I think party affiliations mean quite a bit, actually. I just wish we had better candidates!

Eliza, you might be right. On the other hand, have you seen the banner on Hillary Clinton's website? If it's sexist to refer to the candidate by her first name, she isn't helping.

I suspect there is also a strategic reason to refer to Sen. Clinton by her first name: it helpfully removes the negative associations some Americans have with the Clinton name.

After listening to all the hyped up talk by the media and the candidates; it all comes down to when they stop talking and you think about what they say and it all amounts to nothing. They are all so disconnected from reality and what is happening to the AMERICAN FAMILY!
The media has chosen the candidates – all the candidates are advocates of change and from what we see they all are inbred Washington types who are a big part of the problems we face. As usual we'll be back to voting for what each of us feel is the lesser of two evils and business will unfortunately, go on as it does year after year. It is to bad that those we elect to represent us do not take their responsibilities seriously. It would be terrific if for once they looked out for the interests of the AMERICAN CITIZEN.

All things being equal (and many are), I tend to favor Obama over any of the remaining contenders. I dismiss Romney with an ever so slightly cool shrug. Ron Paul reminds me of my 8 year old telling me the alcohol is bad for me. Of course it is. Good boy. McCain may be a real choice come November, but he should schedule in a shower and some sleep time. Hillary (or should that be Senator Hillary) can't and never will shake the Clintonian tendency for prevarication. Maybe nobody will notice, and she'll win the nomination despite herself and her spouse. Edwards and Guliani, good riddance. Huckabee's only problem is Huckabee, even though he spoke my thoughts on a couple of recent developments.

If anybody is JFK or Reagan, it is far and away Barack Obama. He has proven his ability to walk the aisles, and his open face demeanor will serve us well in the rebuilding of international coalition.

This may be a shallow analysis, well, it is definitely a shallow analysis, but all remaining serious contenders are cut from the same cloth, so this is as deep as I can muster these days.
