Truth is not so easily defined. All of us have been caught not telling the truth at some point. Are hypocrites to be trusted? Hillary can be trusted whether or not she has (in the past) done or said something that she no longer beleives in. I persnally had faith in some people at one time that I would never even admit to. Better roads give better gas mileage, so get your 18 cents back and then you lose them due to fuel inefficiency by terrible roads. Next, I too think this election is preselected, no matter what happens McCain is in the white house, they will find a way. If by some slim chance McCain isn't somehow bought into office Obama is the man for the job. One, he is a new face, someone with the least amount of corruption in him. He has good policies, he knows how to raise money by appealing to the people not corporate giants. He most annoying argument is the Reverend. Wright case. She says why did you go to him for 20 years? My question to her is Why did you and Bill get counseling from THE Reverend Jeremiah J. Wright when your marriage was in shambles? I'm sure he snuck some racist comments in there, too. Obama is too much of a gentleman to bring this up, just like Clinton lying throughout her campaign. Finally, I ask how do people see a good military commander in Clinton? In one of her speeches she openly says she plans to NUKE Iran, if they attack Isreal, this is with provocation. How is that a good military commander, killing millions of innocent lives and even furthering our environmental destruction? How are you going to criticize Obama when Clinton speaks hypocrisy and stupidity throughout her campaign.

With all the royalties the oil companies are getting, I think it would be a good test period to see which of the two candidates would do something concerning the price of oil per barrel. After all, Senator McCain wants to remove all the subsidies from agriculture and since we can't eat oil, you are going to have to ask yourself, which is more important--eating or driving? Remember farming is based on commodities and futures selling those EXOTIC DERIVATIVES and using convergence marketing where they don't want to deliver on the contracts. It would nice if we could talk about this subject before the election.

The problem with the proposal, aside from increase in demand, is that the government doesnt tax based on price. What is the tax, like 15 cents a gallon? If gas is $5 a gallon, the government gets 15 cents. If gas is $10 a gallon, the government gets 15 cents. If you're paying $4 a gallon and the tax is taken away, you're still paying $3.85 for a gallon of gas and in two weeks when the price goes up to $4.20 a gallon, you're back to paying $4.05 a gallon. You'll forget you even got a discount in the first place.

The worst part about a Clinton back in the White House is you get Bill too.

Isn't part of her 'plan' to make the oil companies pay the tax during the summer hiatus? I think common sense says that the oil companies will just pass that tax along in the price. So, you still pay the tax, but now it goes into the general fund list rather than the highway fund list. Net result, crappier roads and bridges (if that's even possible). Don't be fooled.

Mr. Obama of course must have understood Hillary's reasoning. The tax would be removed thru the summer, so amercians like myself could have a few extra bucks. Maybe enough to pay a bill, buy a few extra groceries, or maybe even be treated to a nice meal out. Her long time outlook, was that this would not solve the problem and that the government should work to gether to find a way to make the oil companies lower these prices. Or find other measures to help the everyday people, those of us who are having difficulty trying to pay for our children to have a decent education, food, clothing, groceries, holding on to our homes, finding a way for the everyday low income families to survive. The young children today who for example, work at places like McDonalds, Wendy's, fast food chains, etc. They are trying to better themselves, and yet its costing them almost as much to drive to work as they make?? How can these young adults support themselves and get a college education, with prices the way they are!! Mrs. Clinton, is trying to help by just adding a few dollars a week to allow some of us a meal out, or pay bills. IS that to much to ask, Mr. Obama!!!!

What everybody besides Hillary Clinton and John McCain thinks is that reducing the tax would increase demand, which would increase the gas prices to the point you'd never know the tax was taken away. So you'd be depriving the government of revenue -- and driving your children deeper into debt -- all for an ineffective pander.
