I dont really find it funny! 1% still doesn't change the fact that the american people disaprove of this certain sect of the american government. This poll wasn't made for "fun", it was made to be "fact"! And also, I don't get how people can criticise something they voted for! It's hipocritical, and double-think.
I just thought it was funny how the question says 81% of American's think the country is on the wrong track yet the pole is currently at 80% for 'wrongtrack' hahahaha
Another thing, don't say a question like that without citing where the information comes from. Many studies have shown that humans will usually conform their beliefs to agree with the majority, and for all I know you pulled the number out of your asss. Despite also voting 'wrongtrack' myself.
Obama has not yet been scrutinized.. just watch this next month and see what happens..
The demagoughery of Obama was successful so we must as the few in this country who actually think..make sure that we also participate in scrutinizing.. let as many people know as possible.. this man is a danger to us and our country ..he is a racist and hater of whites as evidenced by his Cones black liberation theology that he has been indoctrinated in for 20 years..personally by Wright..which explains the rantings of Wright and the clapping, cheering and dancing in the aisles by the congregation who were in fact confirming and endorsing the actions and words of Wright as it is what they all believe.. white hate and racism..Obama included.. and it is what he now teaches his little girls. This mans unsavory friends alone should disqualify him from public office..which of course the voters can reflect..but so many other things speak so loudly about him..his lack of integrity for he had 20 years to stand up against hate and racism and he did not.. his poor judgement is not exactly a leadership quality either..
Well to all you Obaminites I think you will be drinking your Kool aid soon.. when you hear the scrutiny start you will also get a better idea of just who your messiah is.. what he stands for..
you are a complete fool, education prevents manipulation, get off the internet and go hear the man speak, ask questions, read newspapers. We can only pray Obama gets the chance to lead this country.
Unemployment numbers fluctuate, as does productivity. Real wage rates fluctuate and so do inflation rates. Cite your "average" statistics all you want...but use better sources than Lott of Fox News.
Try to see if the Right Wing would also include the current value of the U.S. dollar vs. other world currencies; perhaps such "reality" would bite them back. This is true reality. Our economy is tanking.
The fascination the Right has with smaller government and lower taxes is apparently kept through ignorance of our overly-increased debt ceiling since Bush took office. Sure, pay for your war with borrowed capital; look the other way when critical industries profiteer during "wartime," bail out the banking institutions when their capital schemes fail, and ignore the crony/contractor pirates working at every level.
Keep shouting vehemently against your other pet whipping boy: the "welfare state" but consider pointing the finger at the real weakling recipients of government handouts: irresponsible corporations. Until you are willing to take a dose of true reality, it would behoove you to go stand in the corner with your uninformed tantrums and let the rest of us try to sort out solutions to the problems your gang has left in its wake...
One of the big problems with those that argue for "Christian?" religion in government is they don't know what the Bible says about 1. public prayer, 2. religious symbols, 3. dealing with other religions, or 4. dealing with religion in government.
The Bible (something that should be fundamental to a Fundamentalist?) 1. Never advocates public prayer, 2. opposes religious symbols on display, 3. says that even though something is ok for a Christian, if others are around that would be offended the Christian is to abstain for the sake of others, 4. calls for a strict separation of church and state.
Wouldn't it be good if "Fundamentalist? Christians?" knew the fundamentals of Christianity?
Let's try to make points without ascribing arrogance or narrow-mindedness, please. The United States is not a Christian nation, but rather a nation made predominantly of Christians. This is not a distinction without a difference. Israel is a Jewish state, founded on Jewish precepts. India is a Hindu state. America is different. Of course, the Founders were, for the most part, believers. And they understood the need for civic institutions to inculcate virtue. They thought religion was essential for maintaining liberty. You or I could point to dozens and dozens of examples, but George Washington is a great one. I've quoted him elsewhere, but his Farewell Address is worth quoting again here:
Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity. Let it simply be asked: Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice? And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.
So why isn't the United States a Christian nation? Because the country was founded in part on religious liberty. The beauty of the American system, of course, is that we're free to practice our religious faith more or less as we see fit, without government meddling.
The trouble with saying "America is a Christian nation" is that the phrase carries baggage that the Founders likely never intended. The trouble with saying "America isn't a Christian nation" is that it's so easily misunderstood.
The man you spoke with was right Al.Read history books. And not the cheap crappy ones they gave you in high school either. Get some nice biographies about our founding fathers. Start with George Washington. And for crying out loud don't be so arrogant and narrow minded!
I had in my experience, a man tell me that we should have prayer in the schools. He called himself a "Born Again Christian" So when I said I would agree that we should have prayer in school, but we would need to level the playing field by having a different prayer from at least four of the major religions that we have in this country. Shintoism, Muslim, Christian, and a choice of several others.
He went ballistic when I mentioned other religions other than Christians. He told me in no uncertain terms, that Christian was the only true religion and all of the founding fathers were Christians. On that piece of info he was dead wrong. Pretty arrogant I thought.

That does not change the fact that your senator's vote is bought and paid for by special interests, or that your personal freedoms are melting like an ice cube in a hot tub right before your very eyes, or to simply uphold the law is made too difficult by government allowing Mexico to invade and concur our country. Look at the bigger picture my friend! We can't even get a decent person to run for president. Ron Paul wasn’t perfect, but I fear that he was the last honest candidate to ever run for office of President of the United States.
where will obama take us.....if the apple does not fall to far from the tree....is not both his dads muslim? what does that mean for us as a christian nation.
I agree America needs to do some homework on Obama's qualifications as President. Research Anton Rezko relationship, Rev. Jeremiah Wright church's theology(Black Liberation Theology), friendship with William Ayers, weather underground bomber of the 70's, and significant contributor to Obama's campaign, Walter Veltroni, Communist since 15 years old, and Obama's friend, currently the leader of Italy's Democratic Party(Socialist). His close association with Move On.org, and daily KOS. Obama is a socialist, and is for shared prosperity, and will support socialist programs in America, he will not continue with capitalism which is what has made this country the envy of all nations. So stop being led like sheep, and not vote for this flawed man.
I agree America is on the wrong track. I am a Democrat, but believe the DNC is totally infiltrated now with left wing loons. The Party is no longer the same Party my parents and grandparents believed in. It is controlled by special interest groups like Move On.org, Daily KOS, and LaRaza. The media for the most part have conditioned America slowly over the years to buy in to politically correct jargon, far left mentality. That these philosophies are the norm, that people who disagree are evil, unfeeling. I really think America has to reach down to the bottom of despair, before they see what they have given up and revolt. Obama's candidacy will bring Socialism to America. If you don't think so, wait and see. It appears America only learns from its experiences. And cannot see the forest for the trees!
YES, in that it continues to slide into socializm at top speed. The Demos are more likely to complete the process if elected to the White House, with the help those who voted to not declare English as the official language. The entitlement programs arre killing us and, as such powerful vote buying machines, are not likely to be reversed.
Democrats and the corrupt so-called main stream media are pulling out all stops to get a Democrat elected President in November. The more bad news they can create, the better.

I totally agree that a lot of our economic problems have been brought on by consumers. However, I'd like to point out that it seems to have worsened since Pelosi and her Democratic friends took their positions.
Thank Goodness. After so much money has been wasted on unorganized programs, it's time for people to realize that social programs need to be looked at.
Now before anyone starts complaining about the cost of the military, our defense budget is but a fraction of the antiquated social welfare systems the country has be keeping in place. Yet when anyone has the nerve to try and fix this problem, he or she is labeled as an outcast to both political parties.
It's time we have change, to borrow the common rhetoric that we hear every 4 years, and have someone with the nerve to do something about this. After, over 50% of our budget goes into this, we might want to fix it.

The brutal error at the heart of this argument is that we need a LEADER. Government is an instrument OF the people FOR the people and it is for the people themselves to lead the government. We do not need a leader as is suggested by this poster, but rather a REPRESENTATIVE who follows that which the people determine to be right.

First one: Allow the President to invade a neighboring nation, whenever he shall deem it necessary to repel an invasion, and you allow him to do so, whenever he may choose to say he deems it necessary for such a purpose -- and you allow him to make war at pleasure.
If today, he should choose to say he thinks it necessary to invade Canada, to prevent the British from invading us, how could you stop him?
You may say to him, 'I see no probability of the British invading us' but he will say to you, 'Be silent; I see it, if you don't.'
Second one: Our government has kept us in a perpetual state of fear - kept us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor - with the cry of grave national emergency.
Always, there has been some terrible evil at home, or some monstrous foreign power that was going to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it.
First Answer: Abraham Lincoln Second Answer: General Douglas MacArthur
Does any of this resonate with what we are hearing today??
All the good people around the world should realize that we must participate in our various governmental systems -- to give feedback to our elected officials to keep them in line -- or risk the loss of our existing rights, and risk the takeover by "crooks".
It has happened many times before in many countries, and usually when the citizens get lazy and ignorant, and take for granted what their forefathers have lived and died to provide for us.
To respect our forefathers and future generations, we MUST participate in the game of society.
Right now in the USA, we are at risk. Let's all get with it!!!!
Write to your elected officials to let them know your position on issues that are important to you, and are important to our nation. Hold them accountable to uphold the responsibilities that we elected them to perform. Use your rights as a citizen or you are at risk of losing those rights!
People give too much credit to the president's powers. Much of what is going on in our country is by no means a direct result of President Bush but by that of the consumers, business leaders and world affairs (Iraq being 1 affair out of many more).
Wake up. We would all be either dead or wearing rags on our heads. I realize that this is 'an inconvenient truth', but your logic is seriously flawed. Lets see, no experience didn't work so lets try it again, and dream of what might have been in fairyland with Al? I leave for Africa and the middle east on Sunday. You need to get out of your playground and see the rest of the world. Green jobs? Try NO jobs. No way will I vote for a racist, black, white, brown or any other color. What we need is leadership, not representation of the lowest common denominator masses. That is, so called leaders who follow the polls and change their tactics to follow popular opinion, rather than a leader who follows principles, popular or not. As far as I am concerned, NO TAXATION WITH REPRESENTATION. That means NO gov't green jobs. Let the market create jobs, which is the only way to truly CREATE them. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the gov't is not and never will be your savior, despite what they brainwashed you with in your state controlled schools. Maybe you should get an education before you criticize those with one.
Are you registered to vote? If Hillary was Obma's mother she would have been a very young mother indeed. Gorge Bush had about as much experience as Obama when he took office. If experience had one (it did but the court decided the election in the end) Al Gore would have been president. How much different would this country have been if the popular vote actually meant something. Experience definetly would have made a dramatic difference. We would already be creating green jobs and the war in Iraq would not have happened. So you vote for no experience and pray that should we elect the one with no experience again, he will have a better go at it.
Obama has learned politics in Cook County Illinois, the ground zero for corrupt politics in America. His supporters include the rich folks-can you think of why? When he could not afford the 2 million dollar house he wanted his indited political crony had his wife buy the back yard. Think there was no quid pro quo?
While he dismisses the awful remarks of his pastor as sound bites, Louis Farakam recieved awards from the Rev. Write. Look up the Trinity Church and see for yourself what they stand for. Farakam is a racist of the first order, his hate for Jews is public record. Obama employs many of Farakams followers. He could not win his Illinois Senate seat without any quid pro quo from Farakam. Now he says he wont be swayed by lobbyists?
He is getting as easy ride. He blocked revotes in Florida and Michigan because his lead would go away. You don't trust Sen Clinton, fine, but be careful who you do trust and just whose interest he has in mind. DO your homework.
A little perspective on the economy would be helpful. The average unemployment rate during President Clinton was 5.2 percent. The average under President George W. Bush is just slightly below 5.2. The current unemployment rate is 4.8 percent, almost half a percentage point lower than these averages.
The average inflation rate under Clinton was 2.6 percent, under Bush it is 2.7 percent. Indeed, one has to go back to the Kennedy administration to find a lower average rate. True the inflation rate over the last year has gone up to 4 percent, but that is still lower than the average inflation rate under all the presidents from Nixon through Bush’s father.
Reality bites. Of course we know how the left wing media will lie about the economy to justify a return to Democrat rule.

Syndicated columnist Debbie Schlussel broke a story on January 30, on Senator Barack Obama’s close ties with the Nation of Islam (NOI), headed by black racist and anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan.
Schlussel interviewed a former Obama insider on the condition of anonymity and learned that contrary to Obama’s recent statements distancing himself from Farrakhan and his anti-Jewish views, the Senator actually has staff members who are NOI members.
According to Schlussel, “… a former Obama insider says that Obama’s sudden aversion to NOI and Farrakhan is belied by the fact that Obama employed and continues to employ several Farrakhan acolytes in high positions on his Illinois and U.S. Senate campaign and office staffs.”
One of those NOI members is Cynthia K. Miller, who served as Treasurer of his Senate campaign. Another NOI member is Jennifer Mason who currently serves as Obama’s Director of Constituent Services and who oversees the hiring of interns for Obama.
The insider also told Schlussel that Obama’s Illinois State Senate district consisted of prime Nation of Islam territory, including Hyde Park where Farrakhan’s mansion is located. According to Illinois politicos, no one can win that district without the blessing of Farrakhan.
Obama’s relationship with recently arrested Tony Rezko is problematic. Rezko is a Syrian Arab who helped Obama purchase his home. In addition, Rezko was in partnership with NOI founder Elijah Muhummad’s son, Jabir. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL)
Sen. Obama’s pastor, Dr. Jeremiah Wright has been in the news recently over his anti-Israel statements and his recent awarding of a lifetime achievement award to his friend, Louis Farrakhan. The racist head of the Nation of Islam has referred to Judaism as a “gutter religion” and said that whites are only “potential” humans.
Obama issued a statement distancing himself from some of Wright’s anti-semite comments but his employment of NOI members raises questions about his own religious beliefs and views about Israel.
“This newest revelation about Obama’s close ties to the Nation of Islam raises serious questions about his own faith and his views on whites, Israel and our nation’s war against Islamic fascism,” said TVC Chairman Rev. Louis P. Sheldon. “Just how many Nation of Islam racists will fill an Obama Administration should he become President of the United States?”
The Nation of Islam is a radical anti-white, anti-Jewish organization, founded by Elijah Muhummad.
Obama may not have the experience but he learns fast. I rather have him in the White House that Hillary who I do not trust at all. Obama will do what is best for all of us, not just the few rich people. Making decisions that make your own life better is not what I want. I want someone who will work for all the people.
I do not believe Obama is the right person to be president. He does not have the experience, and I do not believe some of his answers. I think Hilary would make a much better president. One thing is for sure though. I would not want to see more conservative republican rule. They have done enough damage to this country and its economy. It's a great time if you are rich.

Our government has kept us in a perpetual state of fear - kept us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor - with the cry of grave national emergency.
Always, there has been some terrible evil at home, or some monstrous foreign power that was going to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it.
First Answer: Abraham Lincoln
Second Answer: General Douglas MacArthur
Use your rights as a citizen or you are at risk of losing those rights!
are you a retard?

A little more perspective...
Submitted on April 5th, 2008 by AnonymousPeople give too much credit to the president's powers. Much of what is going on in our country is by no means a direct result of President Bush but by that of the consumers, business leaders and world affairs (Iraq being 1 affair out of many more).
And 911 wouldn't have happened, right?
Submitted on April 5th, 2008 by AnonymousWake up.
Obma's Mother?
Submitted on April 4th, 2008 by AnonymousAre you registered to vote? If Hillary was Obma's mother she would have been a very young mother indeed. Gorge Bush had about as much experience as Obama when he took office. If experience had one (it did but the court decided the election in the end) Al Gore would have been president. How much different would this country have been if the popular vote actually meant something. Experience definetly would have made a dramatic difference. We would already be creating green jobs and the war in Iraq would not have happened. So you vote for no experience and pray that should we elect the one with no experience again, he will have a better go at it.
Obama as President
Submitted on April 4th, 2008 by AnonymousObama has learned politics in Cook County Illinois, the ground zero for corrupt politics in America.
Your Daily Dose of Perspective
Submitted on April 4th, 2008 by Chuck_JohnsonTime for some perspective, people. Is America really going in the wrong direction?

Reality bites. Of course we know how the left wing media will lie about the economy to justify a return to Democrat rule.

Syndicated columnist Debbie
Submitted on April 4th, 2008 by AnonymousSyndicated columnist Debbie Schlussel broke a story on January 30, on Senator Barack Obama’s close ties with the Nation of Islam (NOI), headed by black racist and anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan.

Obama for President
Obama as President
Submitted on April 4th, 2008 by AnonymousObama may not have the experience but he learns fast. I rather have him in the White House that Hillary who I do not trust at all. Obama will do what is best for all of us, not just the few rich people. Making decisions that make your own life better is not what I want. I want someone who will work for all the people.
Kennedy's age
Submitted on April 4th, 2008 by JoelUm, tick up about a decade on that, anon.
Under the Constitution, no one is eligible to be president until they're 35.
The White House is where the President learns his job!
Submitted on April 4th, 2008 by AnonymousWhy do you think Obama don't have the experience to become President? President Kennedy was only 34 year old.
How about Bush, what has he done!
Please, don't think like that, it is not true.
Hillary should have more experience she is old enough for Obama mother.
presidential election
Submitted on April 4th, 2008 by AnonymousI do not believe Obama is the right person to be president. He does not have the experience, and I do not believe some of his answers. I think Hilary would make a much better president. One thing is for sure though. I would not want to see more conservative republican rule. They have done enough damage to this country and its economy. It's a great time if you are rich.
Just another thing Bush Jr. and Bush Sr. have in common.
Submitted on April 4th, 2008 by AnonymousLet's see the listing of commonalities.
1) Failed responses to hurricanes.
2) War with Iraq
3) Recession and job loss
4) Undermined Republican brand
5) Low approval ratings.
