LeMay is the Air Force General that Dr. Strangelove was caricatured after.

President Kennedy could not be in the same room as LeMay,he used McNamara as a go between.

LeMay is rumored to have been behind a right wing military coup that killed Kennedy after he failed to back up the kooky Bay of Pigs fiasco.LeMay wanted to attack Russia first and he foamed at the mouth when Kennedy vetoed his nonsense.
