A quote I saw once

"Tell the future generations it was good for the economy, when they can't farm the land, drink the water, or breathe the air."

Anyway, personally: I don't see this as a nature thing. I see this more as a "Should we let the rich destroy our present and future so that they can make more money?" There's other ways- current wealth isn't interested in it (change costs money). And anyway, why should the corporations care? It's not like the rich are the first to suffer when an environment begins to fail.
