Barack Obama's beer choices are getting an approving nod from McClatchy:

Sen. Barack Obama made a last-minute, surprise appearance at a downtown bar this afternoon, ordering a Pabst Blue Ribbon (beer of the working man) and spending half an hour greeting voters. “Everyone voted?” he hollered, walking up Martin Street as he headed into the Raleigh Times bar about 5:30 p.m.

Kevin Drum points us to this Syracuse University study showing that war opponents and supporters got roughly the same airtime in major media outlets during the runup to the Iraq invasion.

Only one problem, it seems that all of the opponents were:

Foreigners. Yep. Despite the fact that plenty of Democratic politicians and U.S. experts opposed the war, the news networks almost completely shut off domestic sources of criticism.
