Is Senator Obama alienating the Progressive Democrats?

As we all know, Senator Obama owns his victory over Senator Clinton during the primaries to the left of the Democratic party;  AKA  the Progressive  Democrats.

They have they outlets in the form of the Daily Kos, Moveon.org, Code Pink etc, and a very specific agenda.

The core element of this political agenda is to end the war in Iraq. It is also to keep pushing for an impeachment of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, even so the timing of it would be ludicrous considering that the  Bush Administration is.....out of time.

Topic of the Day: The US Army's Mea Culpa in the Iraq war fiasco.

Today the US Army released a 720 pages official report based on interviews with more than 200 senior Army officers involved in the invasion of Iraq. The main conclusion,  in the Army's report, says its senior leaders failed to properly plan for the aftermath of the 2003 invasion.

It is an honest attempt to expose the mistakes that were made. Retired General Scales says the report is very candid and calls it a " chronicle of  failure".

The Bush Administration's " long term US-Iraqi security pact " is an effort to have permanent US bases in Iraq.

The Bush Administration is trying to tie up the hands of  the upcoming President by entering a so call " US/Iraq Security pact " before they leave office in January 2009.

Yesterday, David Satterfield, the top State Department official in Iraq, admitted to reporters that one of the stumbling blocks over the long term agreement is due, in large part, to issues regarding the foreign " security contractors ".

Policy of Deception part 2: The intelligence on Iraq's threats were " cooked " by the Bush administration.

Yesterday, the Senate Intelligence committee unveils its final report on pre-war Iraq intelligence.

Once again it shows, in a bipartisan fashion ( 10 to 5), that  " the Bush administration was fixated on Iraq, and used the 9/11 tragedy as justification for overthrowing Saddam Hussein. To accomplish this, top administration's officials repeated statements that falsely linked Iraq and Al Qa'ida as a single threat ."

Scott McClellan has put the final nail in the coffin of the Bush Administration's " legacy".

In his new book, former Bush press Secretary Scott McClellan, takes a hard look at the logic of deception and spin that  took Americans to a war of choice in Iraq.

While some of us knew that from the get go, most Americans ( including Congress) bought the argument to go to war and the so call " evidence " ( cooked by the Bush Administration with the help of the CIA) of  the WMD , other tall tales of uranium cake from Niger and of course the pending doom of  " mushroom clouds ".
