Embittered and disappointed Paul supporters let their idealism cloud their judgment and became lost in dreams of "reLOVEution." Politics, however, is about the art of the possible.

Should McCain pick a solid conservative to placate a skeptical base? Should he pick a governor to balance his strengths as a senator? Should he pick a Bush administration veteran or look to someone from the outside?
The Nation's Nicholas von Hoffman worries that McCain will tap Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Don't make me laugh.
What's a good debate, anyway?
Posted 43 weeks 5 days ago byEarlier tonight, I wrote: "Well, it was a good debate. Better than the last debate. Not a great finish, though." I still think it was better than the last Republican debate, but on reflection, I'm not sure it was "good." The comments under our live blog post are certainly proving to be more interesting.
