Okay I will begin by admitting that I had never heard of Sara Palin before 10:52 this morning.  My first thought: Dan Qualyle in 1988.

The Guns Of August II

In August 1914 a faded superpower (Austria-Hungary) attempted to flex its muscle along its southern frontier, by attacking a much-smaller nation (Serbia).  It just so happened that Serbia was allied with a major superpower at the time (Russia).  Four years later, nearly twenty million people were dead and no issues were settled on a long-term basis.

Pintoed in 2008

Fellow evangelicals, we have been Pintoed.

In the early 1970s Ford faced a choice.  They could retool the Pinto to make it a safe car, or they could pay legal fees and settlement costs associated with wrongful death lawsuits.  They decided it would be cheaper to pay legal fees, so the decision was made to do nothing regarding safety upgrades.

InDecision '08

Hillary Clinton's fifteen minutes of fame have expired. And like an infamous American historical figure, her income taxes are her undoing.  Ever since Bill Clinton's presidential campaign and election in 1992, there have been dark clouds swirling around the Clinton's finances. The early reports were largely dismissed as hurtful rumors circulated by Mr. Clinton's political opponents.  Maybe that was true.  But the income tax issue does not go away for Ms. Clinton. The issue's most recent roots can be traced to the summer of 2007.
