Time for Another List
Posted 14 weeks 1 day ago byThere are five groups of politicians trying to get this bailout bill passed. I will list these groups in order of their relative power to get this bill passed:
1. President Bush (1a. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson)
2. House Democrats
3. Senate Democrats
4. Senate Republicans
5. House Republicans
The first four groups are all on board with the bailout. The House Republicans shouldn't be ranked, because they truly have no power. Yet they are the ones responsible for the bailout bill failing today?
Rush to Judgment
Posted 15 weeks 14 hours ago byI still want to follow up on my Ten Truths post and its relationship to what has been said about Gov. Sarah Palin. However, I want to talk about this $700 billion bailout of the financial industry. I must say the sheer size, speed, and intensity of this is frightening.
Seven hundred billion dollars. We in redblueamerica land can't fathom that kind of money. Yet our political leaders are all too willing to spend this money less than one week after the problems faced by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, and AIG.
RedChuck's Ten Truths
Posted 16 weeks 4 days ago by1. It's always about the money.
2. Everybody is biased.
3. You don't make the weak stronger simply by making the strong weaker.
4. Government tax policy does not affect the rich as much as it affects those trying to get richer. (4b. Rich people are rich for a reason.)
5. Democrats love the rich as well.
6. Republicans also love the power that comes with spending other people's money.
7. Liberals are likely to judge you by who you were when you were born.
8. Conservatives are likely to judge you by what you've done since you were born.

Hooray Biden!
Posted 19 weeks 1 day ago byI am sooooo happy Joseph Biden was chosen by Barack Obama to be his Vice Presidential candidate! I've always wanted to be Joe Biden when I grow up. (Disclosure: I'm 36 years old.) Why have I wanted to be him (other than his hair)? Sen. Biden criticizes everything, second-guesses everyone, and at the end of the day he was right all along.

Obama's VP Choice
Posted 19 weeks 1 day ago bySo Barack Obama sent a text message at 3 am Saturday morning telling the world Joe Biden is his running mate. Sen. Obama, it took you this long to answer Sen. Clinton's most (in)famous ad?
The United States Flag Is A Fashion Accessory? I DON'T THINK SO!!!
Posted 19 weeks 3 days ago byThe credentials for this year's Democrat National Convention features a flag flying upside down. Barack Obama campaign spokesman Matt Chandler said the flag is not upside down, but is a stylized flag designed to blend the stars with Sen. Obama's shirt with the flag blowing in the wind.
Senator Obama, Mr. Chandler, let me see if I can put this in language you can understand. THE AMERICAN FLAG IS NOT A FREAKIN' FASHION ACCESSORY!!! IF YOU ARE GOING TO DISPLAY THE FLAG, DISPLAY IT PROPERLY!!!

Dole and Anti-Dole?
Posted 20 weeks 2 days ago byI think a lot of people are dreading this upcoming Presidential election. I can tell because of the comparisons people are trying to make between this election and past elections. Well I don't want to be left out of the fun. So allow me to take this moment to compare both candidates to a previous Presidential candidate, Bob Dole. In significant ways one candidate is a carbon copy of Sen. Dole, the other is his opposite.
John McCain, of course, is the carbon copy of Dole. How? Let's see:
Septuagenarian candidate? Check.
