Guess who got called by a pollster tonight!?! That would be yours truly . . .

Governing by the numbers is a lot like painting by them, and if current policy is any indication, you get about the same caliber of results. Smooth edges and very little personal commitment, not much time or effort involved, either. It's the lazy legislators best friend, in fact. 

This has no relevance to anything, except it makes me wonder who the White House Press Office is really working for!

I recently visited the White House website to procure text of President Bush's first speech outlining why Iraq posed a threat to America. The speech is aptly titled, "President Bush Outlines the Iraqi Threat," and can be found here:

GO SEE THIS MOVIE - you won't be disappointed. It's not a political statement, it's not a trite string of soundbytes. If anything, it's a love affair with those soldiers who were so moved by 9/11 that they enlisted in the military the next day. "Stop Loss" is their struggle - with families left back at home, a war no one could have prepared them for, and a country that simultaneously asks everything of them and tells them it's not enough.

As anyone who has a television has no doubt heard, Senator Obama's head pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, gave a barn-burner of a sermon recently. So much so that it included the words, "God Damn America" not once, but repeatedly. Now the video I posted here doesn't include those words, because I don't support that kind of speech and never will. If there is a Creator, I want nothing but His blessings on my home! But this video is an example (taken from Fox News) of more of the sermon that people are calling racist, bigoted, hate speech.

I'm not going to argue the Constitutional Law questions implicit in Rep. Kern's statement that her hate speech is protected under the First Amendment. Leave that to the lawyers. What I do know is that one only has to look at history to see that rhetoric dehumanizing entire groups of people has incited atrocious acts of violence before, and claiming that words have no consequence is simply not true. While Rep.

The irony of my having been in Texas working for the Obama campaign is that, I knew nothing about the Texas primary process before I got there, either. But it still kills me that the major media outlets have so misrepresented what actually happened this week. I understand that it's a complicated process - trust me, I've been trying to explain it to voters for a week now! But talk about not doing your research and missing the story. . .

Oh, the classic case when your own words come back to haunt you! Straight from President Clinton's mouth to . . . his head?

Otherwise known as, "if the media's giving Hillary a raw deal, she deserves it."

Talking with a friend who worked in the Clinton administration the other day, I learned a fun little tidbit - Hillary Clinton did not have a security clearance high enough to warrant her presence in diplomatic or national security capacities during either of President Clinton's terms in office.

Whaaaat?

This is the same woman who is claiming that her time in the White House was spent as more than a figurehead's wife? Hmmm. So, like any curious voter, I checked it out.

And you should, too:
