Supermodel comes up with a super 'green' idea

Cindy Crawford, considered one of the smarter supermodels in the stable, told ABC News this week that her experience as a mother has led to an "eco-awakening."

“I mean, we’ve all have seen the Al Gore movie and green is on ... it’s on top of the mind for everybody,” Crawford said. “But, it is overwhelming. I have a very full life as well, so it’s like ‘Oh, I can’t compost my own stuff.’”

Hillary to OPEC: "Drop Dead"

Hillary Clinton has had enough of high gas prices. And in her closing argument in Indiana Monday, she pledged to go after the OPEC cartel:

Forrest Gump picks Obama as his new first mate on the shrimpin' boat

Tom Hanks' genius has been to avoid the sirens' call of political activism.

When Hollywood hotshots use the Oscar ceremony to take crude pot shots at the war and at George W. Bush, Hanks retains his dignity and gives non-ideological, unqualified tributes to the troops.

When other Hollywood biggies scramble to the Huffington Post to post screeds against Republicans, Hanks keeps his keyboard quiet.

The Washington Post endorses the Bush Doctrine

I wouldn't believe it if I didn't read it with my own eyes. The anti-war editorial board of The Washington Post published an editorial today warning against relying on the kind of "over the horizon" strategy Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama advocate for fighting the war on Islamic terrorists.

Breaking down Obama's pathetic Wright Response, Part 2

Picking up where I left off here, there are still several interesting aspects about Obama's Wright is Wrong press conference this week that are worth unpacking. A reporter helpfully picked up on Obama's theme, asking how this might be yet another "distraction" for his messianic campaign.

Hillary on O'Reilly on Iraq

The reviews are in after Hillary's two-part interview with Fox News' Bill O'Reilly, and she seems to be getting better notices from the right than she does from the left. Conservatives did not smile upon Hillary's appearance on "The Factor" because they thought she hurt herself. To the contrary, they thought Hillary acquitted herself fairly well. (Though there were dissenters on the right, who aimed their fire at O'Reilly.)

But Abe Greenwald at Commentary's excellent Contentions Blog focused particular attention to Hillary's statements on "The O'Reilly Factor" about Iraq. Hillary said:

Breaking down Obama's pathetic Wright Response, Part 1

Not enough here has been written about Obama's fragging of Rev. Jeremiah Wright. His press conference was a festival of hole digging, distraction (something Obama usually decries), and ... well ... outright lies.

Obama's Jedi Mind Tricks don't work anymore

Obama learned Tuesday that he can no longer wave his fingers, say "this is not the issue you're looking for," and move along. The Force is no longer with him. The electorate is like, well, Jabba the Hutt, laughing uproariously about how that "old Jedi mind trick" won't work on him.

The Jedi mind trick won't work because of the various contradictions in the way Obama has handled his pastor disaster.

Opposition research on Hillary ... from the left

The jobs of the guys and gals who toil away in the Republican opposition research warrens were made a lot easier yesterday. Flowers and cards are surely on the way to unreformed leftist Tom Hayden, who authored an anti-Hillary piece for the unreformed leftist magazine The Nation. Why rely on conservatives to bring up Hillary's shady, radical lefty past when a lefty can do it for you?

'Iron Man' is a New Man of the Right

Robert Downey Jr. — starring in the one of the most anticipated and certain blockbusters of the summer, Iron Man — came out of his year in prison a changed man. He told The New York Times in last Sunday's magazine that spending August 1999 through August 2000 in the joint completely obliterated his Hollywood-chic lefty politics.
