Obama shuns West Virginia

West Virginia, long denegrated as a place where brains are in short supply, may become one of the smartest states after their primary.  Obama didn't think enough of them to even try to change their minds about him, and they gave Clinton an overwhelming mandate.

Obama's victim mentality

It always amazes me that Obama manages to come up smelling like a rose no matter what kind of dirt is unearthed about him.  He did not do well in the last debate and he's blaming it on any one and everyone but himself.  What?  No speech writer to tell you how to respond?  You poor thing!  How dare they waste 45 minutes of the voters time making you look foolish and looking into your associations?  It's OK, you can cry it out on mommy's shoulder.

You have to wonder: The Presidential Campaign

Having been away from the blogosphere for a while, I've not weighed in on the Demacrat debacle we call the race for the nomination.   I am pleased that Obama's cracks are showing, but I have to wonder if he will still be able to pull off the "it's not about the 'gotchas' but issues" come back.  If Obama doesn't think his world view is an important issue to American voters, he needs to think again.

What do we do about McCain?

Senator McCain is all we've got right now as Republicans, and many believe we will all come along and vote for him. I don't think that's true though. Those of us who are true conservatives, may vote for him as a last resort, but then again, who knows.

I believe we need to write down every promise the man makes and then hold him to them. I believe McCain is a man of integrity which I can't say about Sen. Clinton and don't know enough about Sen. Obama to say and that's god, but Bush is a man of integrity too, but he's not a true conservative.

Obama mania or cult worship?

I have to say I find this video deeply disturbing. Not only the message, but the subliminal message and the worship-like atmosphere of it. For a man who has proven nothing, people sure are putting a lot of hope into his rhetoric. He has become a phenomenon and a celebrity of sorts instead of a candidate for President.

I have no doubt he will bring change, all President's do, but what kind of change and at what cost?

Just something to think about.

Conservative vs. Liberal

This blog is an offshoot of conversation between myself and anonymous about my previous blog about whether born again Christians would vote Dem or Rep. I think it's time we stopped the liberal/conservative thing. In truth, a conservative is for preserving the things s/he believes in but up for change in other areas. Liberals are pretty much the same. So, in essence, we are all conservative in areas and liberal in others.

Would a majority of born again Christians vote Democrat or Republican?

In looking through the official Democratic Party Site>

I came across this information:

"Study: Born Again Christians Favor Democratic Candidates" Supposedly, leading evangelicals complained that the exit polls left out "persons of faith from Democratic figures".

So, they say the "Christian Post" reported a study that showed
"that if the general election was held today, 40% of all born again adults" would "choose the Democratic candidate". Only 29% would vote Republican and the rest are "unsure".

Obama's racial composition

I have been reading several blogs pointing to Obama's racial profile as 50% White (mom) and 6.25% black with 43.75% Arab (dad). A lot of people are talking about this, but I'd like to see the proof. This is incredibly important if it's true, but I don't want to jump on the bandwagon until I have credible sources.

Voting on Super Tuesday II

I didn't know what I would do until I got to my voting place. Should I cross-vote to help Sen. Clinton? Should I vote for McCain just because he would probably win the nomination anyway? Should I vote for the only candidate that is remotely conservative even though he would be the lesser of two evils?

In the end my conscience won and I cast my vote. I had a big problem with cross-voting. I understand the premise; I understand that the Dems picked McCain for us; I do not understand why Republicans think that makes it OK to play games on their side.

Thoughts on "playing nice" in the elections

This entry is a result of a blog by Joel called "My adversary is not my enemy". This is so true. Why is it that in what we consider a "civilized" society, we cannot be civil? Our electorate, instead of promoting their ideas in comparison to their opponents, must also sling mud on the opponent to help their cause. I think it's been shown that this method is beginning to backfire on the US candidates. We're tired of it.
