Serial Killer:
Posted 1 year 9 weeks ago byThe first gentleman shot in this spree was up the road about ten miles; he has been farming and living in this area for a half century; his people for ever. My neighbor’s Mom and Dad are neighbors of the Cash’s remember through the houses in this part of Gaffney South Carolina are peach farms and a good ways away from each. Yesterday, my son, daughter and I went to pick up her car from the shop. She tried to knock down Sonic and we had to get some damage fixed. We went through two Police stops in the three miles from my house to the shop. Now we were just waived through; the officers where old friends but it felt better to see all those good people out looking hard for this nut. The furniture store is where I bought my wife’s anniversary present last year; she wanted one of those grandmother clocks for the mantle so I got her one. I only shopped there a couple of times but it still makes this thing a little sadder.
Law enforcement from all the local area counties are helping along with a bunch of the state police and the FBI. There have been some local celebrations cancelled but most of the big stuff is still on. I have family here today and friends from college up from Florida (still a sleep) and we are going to get our fat sun burned by the pool and grill chicken and hotdogs later in the day. For breakfast my wonderful wife is cooking homemade biscuits and homemade sausage gravy. It’s like my celebration centers around food; could be worse, it use to center around alcohol. At least I’ll feel a little better tomorrow morning. We were all going fishing this morning before it got to hot, but the killer changed those plans. I’ll let everyone sleep in and talk with my good friends at RBA. The fire Chief always puts on a big firework display this evening; some of his boys will be sober and around to see nothing gets burned down.
So despite the evil stalking the good people of upstate South Carolina we will still gather and celebrate the freedom and courage this day should honor. We do, I must admit have the guns loaded and at hand, we have even shared protection with our friends and neighbors that don’t routinely have or carry fire arms. Of course there are a few friends we just keep an eye on because God love them, they shouldn’t have a gun…ever, lol. We will pray often during our gatherings this weekend for a positive resolution to this terrible tragedy. We will find safety in family and friends; like it should be in this country and culture. God bless you all, God bless the United States of America and I pray you all have a safe and happy Fourth of July.

Sleep well.

defeat evil by doing good

We saw a baseball game and best fireworks I've ever seen. We sang the national anthem and God Bless America at the ballpark. I guess we could have had apple pie to be a bit more cliche.
Early signs
Submitted on July 4th, 2009 by janmbSorry that you were subjected to this trauma so close to your home.
There are many mentally-ill people in this country and often the early-signs are ignored. I truly believe the signs start way YOUNG.
Perhaps, the best time to catch it is in the schools but then the USA doesn't seem to have the money to allocate towards hiring mental-health personnel in schools at all.
The bullying that goes on in schools are always in the news. Adolescent children spend more waking hours with friends and at school than at home. That's a fact.
yep
Submitted on July 4th, 2009 by John 2000We are headed over to some friend's place in about an hour.
I hope they catch the nut-case running loose out in your area.
We have had our share of them out here over the years, some of them quite close. Knock on wood, it has been quite a while since.
I will always swear that I saw the Ramirez creep out here back in the late 80's; but will never prove it. It was only after I told my wife how creeped out I was that I heard on the news that he was actually in the immediate area and was likely driving a car like the one I saw.

Somehow I missed the story
Submitted on July 4th, 2009 by BeoSomehow I missed the story of the serial killer in SC. What a horror to live with. I knew there was a good reason to keep guns..self protection. What a novel idea.LOL
Keep safe and don't get too trigger happy down there. I had the opportunity yesterday to go to the practice session for the Boston Pops 4th of July Celebration. I was in the front row!!! It was fabulous. Neil Diamond rocked the banks of the Charles when he sang Sweet Caroline and Coming to America. We all joined in and you could tell that Neil was having a great time of his own. A little girl sang the pledge of allegeance and kept the ""under God" in the lyrics. That was a good thing as I do not think the crowd would have given her quite the ovation if she had left it out. The cannons went off but the firewoks won't be until tomorrow.
They showed snippets on the jumbothon of soldiers around the world who come from the Boston area saying hello to their parents who were in the audience. Everyone went crazy for them. I found out later that they taped this to send overseas as the 4th falls earllier and so this will be their celebration. They will piece in the fireworks from previous displays.
Today we will attend a barbeque with the family and another one tomorrow.
I guess Palin knew we would be all busy when she made her annoncement. This will be intereting to follow. That lady is full of surprises, so I can only make wild guesses on what is going on there. I hope she has some lawsuits of her own on behalf of her kiddos. Can you imagine adult people making fun of a baby with downe's Syndrome? What kind of people could do that?
