Thanks for the posting,
Submitted on July 9th, 2009 by BeoThanks for the posting, Hammy. I had a response to it but it was lost due to a malfunction of my airport. No great loss, I know, but I wanted you to know that I did read the article and found it very informative. Maybe later, when my frustration abets, I will respond to the article itself.
Here is a long

yes, I did. I also read
Submitted on July 9th, 2009 by Beoyes, I did. I also read Michelle's thesis which illuminated her ideas on black and white. She basically states that black politicians should act like they are interested in society as a whole in order to get elected, but their real objective is to improve the lives of blacks. I believe she still holds those truths and so does her husband.
Anyone who questions this interpretation can google her thesis as I did. (remark not intended at you, Rom, but to those who are getting flippant on this site)
OK Beo
Submitted on July 9th, 2009 by rom12921well-stated objection to the President's approach to foreign policy.
Did you see the idealistic paper from college-aged Obama?
ROM
Submitted on July 8th, 2009 by BeoA united front? Obama is the one who continually trashes the USA on foreign soil. He cannot constrain himself from apologizing for past president's mistakes (in his mind). I stand by my opinion of him as a president. He is being manipulated by Putin and Medevev and is totally out of his league with those pros.
As far as the Russian economy is concerned, it is not doing well and they cannot afford to up date their weapons systems. They should feel good tho', because soon we will not be able to build up our arsenal either if our economy keeps going down. I think Obama ought to hold on to whatever weapons we have, because we won't be able to build new ones soon. I don't think Obama would build them even if we did have the money. He wants to disarm us. He wants us to be equal with the rest of the world. He doesn't like a powerful America IMHO
Gee, I wonder how the Ukraine and Georgia feel about being snubbed. They are allies, are they not? Obama was afraid to offend Putin by going there. Manipulation.
Meant to comment
Submitted on July 8th, 2009 by rom12921on 'BArney Fife'. While I strongly disagree with the President about most everything, I only think it appropriate to give the appearance of a united front in foreign policy.
Even the press gleefully and falsely called President Bush incompetent, a war criminal and worse, it is disrespectful IMO.
ajamo is correct about Russia being rich in mining and minerals. Too bad we couldn't get minerals for food.
I have read the Russian economy is doing better because of oil and minerals, but keep in mind their economy basically collapsed wit hthe ruble in 1998. No way their economy is strong enough to update weapons. We have them out-gunned by far even though they want to try to intimidate and negotiate their way to be a superpower again.
Now , Now
Submitted on July 8th, 2009 by ajamoWhere did you get that the weopons Russia has are obsolete? Come with facts, I bet your wrong.
You also claim that Russia is without monies, prove that one.
Why is it one of our airliner manufactures is buying titanium from Russia, who has the metal, that is used to build airplanes?
Believe me woman, I was not baiting you when I ask a question from your statements, you have baited yourself.
You put out false information and want others to tell you the real answeers, all you can do is produce some carp and then you have the gull to put blame on media when your party gets their buns beat back big time.
I stand by my original
Submitted on July 7th, 2009 by BeoI stand by my original comment. The new sherriff in town is Barney Fife and the Russians are licking their chops. We give up our up to date weapons and defense systems and they give up nothing, considering that the Russian weapons are obsolete and they cannot afford new ones. I hope Congress has something to say about this. I cannot imagine even the liberals going along with this.
Thanks Hammy. I have decided that it is foolhardy for me to respond to persons who are only baiting me and not debating me.
What I am seeing on these blogs
Submitted on July 7th, 2009 by ajamoAre that other people are telling other people what they want to hear, and egging them on. Those are called the followers.
Then some call others evil for they maybe leaning liberal.
Then talk of God, what hipocrites, world is full of them.
Truth of the subject is, that Obama did not go to Russia on the 4th., of July.

He is not going to believe anything Olbberman or the democratic underground doesn’t tell him anyway so there is really no sense in trying. But we must keep posting and discussing to fight the growing evil. Keep writing girl, I have your back.

Here's a column
Submitted on July 7th, 2009 by rom12921from a guy who's been there - Russia.
http://www.nypost.com/seven/07072009/pos...
"Russia -- which designed many of Iran's nuclear facilities -- wouldn't even promise to permanently deny Iran the sophisticated air-defense systems that would make it harder to hit Tehran's nuke sites."
We sell them meat, they tell us we can fly over. Heck of a deal.
Interestingly, the only paper I've seen from college-aged Obama was criticizing nuclear weapons. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/05/world/...
Is his ideology trumping national security?
Sorry, no can do.
Submitted on July 7th, 2009 by BeoSorry, no can do.
The natural gas issue does
Submitted on July 7th, 2009 by rom12921The natural gas issue does not mean Iran is not pursuing nuclear fuel for elctricity but it is enough to suspect ulterior motives, along with the wipe Israel off the map stuff. Senator Kerry pledged to give the wipe-Israel- off-the-map-Iranians nuclear fuel in his 2004 campaign. Probably unwise. If the Russians want to do business that way, then we really can't stop them.
Regarding the deficits...It's not a pretty picture whichever Administration is in office.
The Heritage foundation is just dividing government spending by the Gross Domestic Product which is normally in a range of 18-22% of GDP.The Bush Administration's spending placed it on the high end with 21%. Obama Admin is already up to 25% (highest ever outside WWII) and projected to increase with new agenda items. No comparison about bankrupting the store. I guess Obama wins that too.
Thanks again for the info Rom
Submitted on July 7th, 2009 by ajamoThe natural gas that is going to waste in Iran is sad, for I read here in the United States that there is a surplus of that gas.
The story about the taxes spent in the United State is to deep for me to gather, but I hold you to your saying.
I don't think it is propoganda like a like of writings that are put in here.
I did read in the news today that the two side have agreed to lower the nuclear bombs.
As far as Iran, wasn't it this week that Biden said if Isreal wants to blow up Irans nuclear plant, we the United State have no means to stop them.
I sure would like for BEO to respond for herself, when I put up a question on her writtings. Would be nice to hear her answers.
Iran needs nuclear power?
Submitted on July 7th, 2009 by rom12921According to a retired petroleum engineer I know , the Iranians do absolutely nothing at least 10 years ago to capture natural gas. If you needed power, why not build one fueld by natural gas. The fuel would be free, the construction simpler and free from international entanglements. While ajamo is correct; we cannot know for sure, the evidence suggests no practical reason for nuclear power when they burn off natural gas by the ton.
From my reading, the Obama Administration's goal is to reduce the overall number of nuclear weapons held by Russia and the United States.
With regard to missile defense, "...why don't those countries protect themselves...", most do not have the know-how or the money. I agree it is not up to the American taxpayer to protect every nation against every possibility. We just can't afford it.
With regard to Beo, "I read no such thing in the news today." would suffice.
"...maybe do away with them completely. Would that be nice? Wouldn't it be nice to make friends before making enemies." You fought in Korea, you know the world is not nice.
"Then you said Obama will give away the store, what store Bush left it broke, China got it all before he left office." Bush's deficits as a percent of GDP were within historic norms for the United States in war time. Projections are not.
http://www.heritage.org/Research/budget/...
So it is absurd to compare the two Administrations approach as it is clear the Bush Administration, while increasing spending, were within known avergaes while the Obama Administration's spending is far and beyond such norms.
If
Submitted on July 7th, 2009 by Respectfulguestyou believe Iran is enriching uranium (obtained via Russia) for the sole purpose of nuclear energy, even after Iran's leadership has all but promised the obliteration of Israel, then all the power to you, and I sincerely hope you are right.
Certainly a purpose for the missile defense system is to deter rogue regimes such as Iran from successfully nuking key allies with uranium furnished by Russia, thus murdering thousands of innocent people and potentially igniting a very large war.
the poor tax payers, billion dollar stimulus bills followed by 9.5% unemployment is much preferred to a common defense...someone must have misread how bad the economy was after already declaring it to be the worst economic conditions since the "Great Depression".
Several things I picked up on from Resepect & Beo
Submitted on July 7th, 2009 by ajamoRussia is assisting Iran in building a nuclear electric power plant, not building a nuclear bomb. If I am wrong your will have to prove they are helping them to build a bomb to me.
the missile defense system, does nothing for our country, it is to protect those countries which Iran can reach if they want to sent a missile their way. Why do we have to put them in why don't those countries protect themselves, or better yet have they asked the United States to put them in. If so why, should we the tax payers have to pay again to protect other countries?
Putin in not in charge over there.
Beo it's your turn, you are so full of crap I think it's reached the point of getting into your brain. Where do you come up with these ideas, that our President was cut up by Putin, I read no such thing in the news today.
Putin is not the President of Russia, the host was and is the President.
It did seem to me that I read where Putin when talking to Obama could not look him in the face, he looked at the floor.
The real tester here on the vistit is to reduce the Nuclear bombs of our countries, and maybe do away with them completely. Would that be nice?
Wouldn't it be nice to make friends before making enemies.
Then you brought into the picture Joe Biden, well woman of the world know it all, What did Joe Biden tell the leader of Iraq , if they fall back in the religion fighting again, we will not be there for them.
Then you said Obama will give away the store, what store Bush left it broke, China got it all before he left office.
Sorry woman but I think sometime people over load they mouth with words and soon it sounds like it's coming out of their a$$
hmmm. Putin did today what I
Submitted on July 7th, 2009 by Beohmmm. Putin did today what I expected him to do. He chewed up Barack Obama and spit him out. In response to Obama's faux pas saying that Putin had one foot in the Cold War and one foot in the present, Putin proceeded to lecture Obama on the Cold War for over an hour. Obama has been hanging out with Joe Biden too long. How stupid to insult your host before you meet with them. As far as any strategic advances about air flights to afghanistan, that was set before Obama arrived. I am surprised that Putin didn't pull back from that offer. Obama must be learning that the whole world does not consider him the ONE. Europe gave him nothing and Russia will give him nothing compared to what they will extract from the USA. Obama will give away the store. I guess he doesn't realize that Russians respect strength, not weakness and apology. I'll bet you anything that OBama ended up apologizing for his remarks and is now carrying Putin's message about how the Cold war really ended.
What
Submitted on July 7th, 2009 by Respectfulguestspecifically is getting done and what are we getting?
If your reference is to the US giving up missile defense in return for cooperation from Russia to not assist Iran build nuclear weapons (which they are already doing) then it does not sound like much of a win/win (imo).
as for the "we are trying to make amends with the world" Post on President Bush's Admin, President Bush to a fault reached out to Russia and then sitting Russian President Vladimir Putin. After President Bush had what was reported as productive meetings with President Putin at the start of his Admin, Putin rewarded Bush by assisting Iran with its' nuclear program. These folks are not our friends and should not be treated as such, and certainly are owed no apology.

Us Americans
Submitted on July 6th, 2009 by ajamowhere did you pick that one up? You people make up what ever stories you like, but whe you said us Americans You would be in the negative side a bit. As using the past Administration for messing up relations across the world for the Uniteed State would be the point.
Just think Obama was to have left the United States on the 4th., he just got to Russia today. The smears that are thrown at Obama by the BEO/Ham team has to be over looked.
Yea, I got confused
Submitted on July 6th, 2009 by Hamiltonby Granddads post as well, about our President already being effective even before he got there. I believe he left on Sunday and has just arrived. The Russians say the only way to even begin productive talks is by us give up missile defense. I think that would be a mistake but then I'm also not sure just how accurate the present system is. We have been very closed mouth about it in recent years. No harm done here Beo; I suppose not even the "One" would leave the country on the 4th. We all know he would like to; he just loves opportunities to apologize for us terrible Americans.

I don't know the answer to
Submitted on July 5th, 2009 by Hamiltonthis questions, but I will spend the day trying to find out. I wonder what that says about how lazy I am. But hey, its raining. Question: Has an American President ever been out of country on the 4th before? And what does it say about the POTUS if he doesn't think about all the Americans that serve at the pleasure of the President; those that can't celebrate our freedom with their families...oh well; we may never know.

Submitted on July 4th, 2009 by caligrandadHope everyone enjoys their family cookouts and recreational activities this July 4th - I would think he isn't taking a "holiday vacation", lots of better spots to go.

Be proud that we still enjoy freedoms that others lack or are not allowed to have elsewhere on the globe. Bless my son and the members of his platoon on this day, defending our rights to Freedom and Liberty in a land void of such dreams...Jesse, wish you were home with Mom and I to watch "our" fireworks. To all others, best wishes for a safe and sane national holiday.
