Topic of the Day: COMMUNITY ORGANIZER - What's it all about, Alfie?
Posted 8 weeks 3 days ago byHere is a good spin on what the nature of the Community Organizing that the presumptive democratic presidential nominee was like.
"As Alinsky once put it, "to [expletive] your enemies, you've first got to seduce your allies."

No real surprises I guess, but it is good to see as a backdrop in the current election cycle, and might explain some things about the man that remain cloudy.

"The NYTimes recently did a story on Obama's experience as a community organizer. It described a problem with asbestos in a housing project in Chicago. Obama attempted to organize residents of the housing project to confront the landlord. But instead of successfully managing the issue, general chaos broke out. Obama then left community organizing for Harvard.
Having been trained in community organizing, I know the drill. The training attempts to get one in touch with one's anger about injustices from the past, and then take those feelings into the present. Such a model does not create community. It engenders & rekindles past resentments and victimhood and sources your actions from that
The training does not attempt to make one see the injustice that just about all of us have experienced. The training takes the past into the present and makes it one's future. Such a model is unsustainable.
Obama's compassion for the poor is laudable, but a political campaign based upon techniques of corrupt urban centers that the majority of Americans have striven to either reform or escape from, is a tenuous model from which one attempts to win the Presidency of the USA."

Economic Justice= Income redistribution
I am learning a new vocabulary. Maybe I should publish the "Just Words" translation for non-Socialists.
