Topic of the Day: The New Yorker, Great Cartoon of Obama & Wife
Posted 7 weeks 5 days ago byWell I like what I saw on the cover of the New Yorker magazine. If i could get one I would for humor's sake. http://www.rr.com/view/content/story.cfm...
Unfortunately the cartoonist is wrong or just ignorant about the depition of Obama's wife. She is dressed like the famous Militant Group the Black Panthers. They marched a lot in late 60's and early 70's for equal rights. They also have a darkside, drugs an such.
Go look just for kick's.

I sort of liked em all, but, the ones of him and Hillary were off the top LOL.......... the one that stood out was the one where the white was around his head... it reminded me of steam coming off him. Thanks John, good laugh indeed!
messianic obama mag covers ?
Submitted on July 15th, 2008 by John 2000These are a good serious chuckle?

I'm kinda biased toward the Radar and Barack Obonga ones myself.
Which ones do you suppose are Barack's most approved messianic images?
Do you believe ?
Submitted on July 15th, 2008 by janmbI don't believe in the "innocence" part of putting the cartoon out there. The people that buy this magazine are mainly of the elite class.
Given Pastor Wrights influence for 20 years and the MRS making the statements she has---the NEW YORKER has given this country something to think about--however late.
I can't believe I'm talkin--like-this as I should be supporting the left but I can't seem to lean in that direction.
Improper,slanderest,crap
Submitted on July 15th, 2008 by REEDDARRELLI have read quit a few comments on the Obama cartoon, and well folks maybe someone has gotten it right for once.I'm really tired of everyone jumping to defend this racist family,it's a damn cartoon if it were of the clintons there would not be one comment on this.If there was not so much sh-- and lie's from Obama maybe I would be simpathtic,NOT!
Koolmom ...
Submitted on July 14th, 2008 by John 2000You are, underneath it all, absolutely correct in saying it is not really funny at all. It is a fairly clearcut case of an elitist media organ in the elitist capital of the world poking fun at hayseed white little folk who might still have those kinds of opinions of the Obamas. (Now who of any 'class' might want to be associated with such ignorant little folk?) Look, maybe their little games will finally hit a tipping point.
I am told that the article in the magazine was not so glowing about Obama. He should always keep in mind that the same media that has made him is capable of being the fastest way to destroy him. Not all libs have been happy at all about a lot of his recent position changes.

Submitted on July 14th, 2008 by Skye RiversElementary my dear.... how did I miss your theory. I think I agree with that one..
Sen. Obama has painted this picture
Submitted on July 14th, 2008 by koolmom21"The burning flag, the nationalist-radical and Islamic outfits, the fist-bump, the portrait on the wall? All of them echo one attack or another.
Many people feel that Sen. Obama has proven to them that he does not respect our ways.
He does not honor our flag because he believes it offends some people. Who does he think he would offend? The people who hate us! I do not care if it offends some people especially the people that hate us !!! I am proud of my country even if we are not perfect!!! He does not honor our national anthem because of bombs bursting in air. Remember these bombs were from our enemy and we are and were glad that we and our freedom survived.
Why can't some people see that we are talking about a man who has close relationships and family with KNOWN TERRORIST to be our next Commander in Chief.
We even have the reasonable doubt that as a young man he was learning and practicing the Muslim religion. He was not learning the Muslim faith in the U.S.A. but in Indonesia.
This is not funny and I see no humor in it. This is not something people made up on their own.
Sen. Obama has painted this picture in allot of people's heads by his words and his life himself.
Ike (all)
Submitted on July 14th, 2008 by John 2000crazy me ... I see it as another very clever means to an end. Surely, New Yorker was not so dumb to do it otherwise, as they do have some judgment capability.
I believe that putting this out there so flagrantly (with humor) tends to undercut the perceptions of people who really remain very dubious concerning the real nature of the Obamas. Call it a propaganda technique.
Will he lose votes because of it? I don't think so.
Here we go with the controversies

IKE
Submitted on July 14th, 2008 by Skye RiversIf I were the Obama's, I would be offended. Not sure where their comfort level is, but frankly, even though I don't support them, I do find it in bad taste considering how sensitive the subject matter is.
Whether they are black militant terrorists flip floppers or not, with all going on right now... I don't know. Even though I find it humorous, some muslims may not.
How do you feel about the picture?
What does it mean?
Submitted on July 14th, 2008 by ikewolfPundits have been going nuts over the cartoon, debating whether it's incendiary or a harmless satire.
But what do you interpret the cartoon to mean?
Here's ABC News' description of it:
An illustration by Barry Blitt depicts Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and his wife Michelle in the Oval Office, revealing their "true" selves: Michelle is in full revolutionary garb...(Barack) is wearing a turban and is dressed in garb perhaps more appropriate for a madrassa in Lahore than the Oval Office.
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/...
Is the cartoon saying that Barack Obama is a terrorist and his wife a black militant? Is it making fun of those who label the Obamases that way? Or does it mean something else?
STILL LAUGHING
Submitted on July 14th, 2008 by Skye RiversPayback is a Obamabitch ain't it LOL
Now, now
Submitted on July 14th, 2008 by John 2000It was Hillary who was defending the Black Panther group a few years ago. Where is the fatwa against the artist (pssst, Barry Blitt) for portraying the apostate in muslim garb?
Oh, I forgot ... sense of humor is not allowed concerning the anointed One and pristine Camelot housewife.
Only covers like : http://coverawards.com/2008/07/02/story_...
are acceptable!!
BAD NEW YORKER! BAD!!
and eeeeww, FoxNews so evil to report it!
This LOL-attack has to get the left re-energized.
HILARIOUS
