CAN OBAMA AFFORD TO BE DIVIDED BY RACE? IF NOT, THEN WHAT ON EARTH IS HE DOING...
Posted 6 weeks 6 days ago byAT an Obama's fund raising event, Bernie Mac made a surprise appearance. Before introducing Obama to the stage, Mac did a 10 minute stand up that was anything less than funny with racial tones attached to it. If we can't afford to be divided by race, then why is it his wife seems to have brought the differences between blacks and whites; his Reverend pointed out the differences between blacks and whites; and Bernie Mac has now brought racial tones to his campaign regarding women as ho's.
In the process, all Obama had to say about his great friend, "he needs to clean up his act." Well that leads me into this next question. How does a nobody Senator, who has come out of left field, wearing an empty suit, all of the sudden have great friends in the entertainment industry? Don't "great friends" usually take time to cultivate, or it is the "in thing" to coin the term "great friends?"
I have some good friends, and I have some friends that I am getting to know. Great friends to me would be someone I have cultivated a long time relationship over the years and can trust. It seems to me, the ones closest to him, his great reverend, his great wife, and his great celebrities are really doing a "GREAT JOB" pumping him up.
What are your feelings on this?

Agenda?
Submitted on July 14th, 2008 by DCook36His agenda is simple I think he wants the power and all the other trappings that that comes with the job I can’t believe it would be the money cause it does not pay that much However whatever his agenda is self fulfillment what a feather in his hat, America or us we the people as it were is not his concern we are just his means to the end. Too bad for us if he wins and we have know one to blame but ourselves.
Is he really?
Submitted on July 14th, 2008 by DCook36Oh really, is Obama really a racist? I thought only whites were raciest.
What dope!
Submitted on July 14th, 2008 by DCook36I agree with you skye this guy is a bumbA** what you said. Why isn't there a big huge outcry from all the women's rights groups, how can he get away with this stuff? I just can't believe it; he makes me sicker then any politician I can think of. Jessie Jackson makes me at least as sick but he is not a politician. I don't get it can you tell me why women aren’t screaming about this?
Close friends who are really enemies
Submitted on July 13th, 2008 by janmbTo a politician EVERYONE that matters at the moment is a close friend and back stabbing is so normal its ignored. Can I say these are the most hypocritical bunch of people you will ever find on the face of this earth.
The REV WRIGHT issue certainly took the stage but people were determined that OBAMA was going to be their SAVIOR--- he was the only one who could possibly CHANGE THE USA cause he wasn't familiar with how DC operates and his lack of experience will prove to be beneficial ( somehow )
So Rev Wright---Farrahkan and the flip-flops hardly made a ripple in the support. These people have a IDOL that can do no wrong.
Then as they did with GWB --Obama supporters will be disappointed and his popularity will drop. DUH !!
Obama's a RACIST
Submitted on July 13th, 2008 by REEDDARRELLObama's whole family is racist,Obama's back ground is racist,Obama's life up to the time he steped into the ring for pres. he was a racist,Obama is a racist.I also believe if Obama should he get elected he will be the first President to convert to Islam, mark my word. The hidden agenda Obama has is starting to creep to the surface, only now people need to look, and listen to see the real OBAMA,wan-t-be white/black or what ever it takes.
a little different 'truth'
Submitted on July 12th, 2008 by John 2000is revealed from this interview comment in an 'african-american' venue in 2007. I get no sense of 'I don't condone ...'
"Rap music has been an amazing inspiration to us all. We as Americans can learn from the many idea's and theories that come from rap music. Our education system has held against letting our younger generations learn from this music and I find that wrong. Many talents have come and gone, but the great music stays hear, for us all to enjoy. People label it as bad, bad language, bad message. Just because this message is different from what the norm is, does not make it wrong. it makes it right to learn from."

I have been unable to locate the actual interview.
the ho thing also
Submitted on July 12th, 2008 by koolmom21Your right Skye -I was going to mention the ho thing also.
How about this
Submitted on July 12th, 2008 by Skye Riversdegrading women as ho's at an Obama event. AND, it being ok with Obama. Are you kidding me? "We can't afford to be divided by gender.".................. what a dumbass!
This man is playing us
Submitted on July 12th, 2008 by koolmom21Sen. Obama said:
"We can't afford to be divided by race. We can't afford to be divided by region or by class and we can't afford to be divided by gender, which by the way, that means, Bernie, you've got to clean up your act next time," he said. "This is a family affair. By the way, I'm just messing with you, man."
There is so much wrong with this statement that I do not know where to begin. First-I think that he was telling him in his way with words again that he agreed with Mac but had to LOOK like he was against what he said. I.E. 'By the way, I'm just messing with you, man'
Also-if we can not afford to be divided by race-why is he doing this?
If we can not afford to be divided by region-what does he have plan?
If we can not afford to be divided by class-what is his agenda?
This man is playing us big time!
Bernie Mac
Submitted on July 12th, 2008 by Skye RiversThanks John for the high five on this topic. I think it is very important to explore. Bernie Mac is a black comedian. O dear, I said the "B" word... I don't like his humor. I don't know him as a person, but I am not crazy about his talent and often have wondered where he came from. The point remains... Obama doesn't even consider himself black; but has surrounded himself by all kinds of black celebrities and the last big stunt was a speech he did for Father's Day of which I did blog on, at one of the biggest black denomination church's in the country.
So who is dividing who? It can't be both ways. I wish Obama would read what we post here on RBA. Not that he gives a rats ass, but it would make me feel as if we are doing more on here than just expressing how pissed off we are as American's on the limited choices we have for the presumptive dumbasses.
All and All........ who won that HIllary caption and how are those Raiders doing LOL!!
Bernie Mac is funny but not the proper comedian
Submitted on July 12th, 2008 by AnonymousI think Mac is hilarious, but he most definetely was not the right choice for Senator Obama's audience. It takes a less PC minded crowd to appreciate Mac's comedy. This I think was a major flub on Senator Obama's part.
Hey you
Submitted on July 12th, 2008 by John 2000"Biohazardous, disgruntled, democratic flip-flopper mired in the morass of leftover media fodder. I'm the one who wrote the winning caption for the picture of Hillary with her mouth open all the way to her hairline. Alas."
What was the winning Hillary caption? I tried so hard to win ((
I really like your comment since I think it is 100% right on.
Can I assume that perhaps you see the Jackson, Wright, Pfleger -capades in a very similar light?
Skye, great posting topic and insights!
I don't know jack about this Bernie Mac so I guess now I have to go check him out. I have to go review his 'great friendship' with gangsta rappers back in the Chicago 'hood too.

I wonder...
Submitted on July 12th, 2008 by assumedI wonder if introductory acts like Bernie Mac's aren't planned to make Obama seem fair and wise? Surely, if he's associated with this comedian to any degree, Obama would know the nature of Mac's humor and anticipate a situation that would offer an opportunity to do two things: profess his great friendship while seemingly rising to the demand of chastising his friend's inappropriate remarks. A "hey, man, I love ya but you just ain't actin' right" scenario that plays to both sides of the coin. "See, everyone, I practice the spirit of friendship but I know when my friends are out of line" thing.
Yet another example of Obama's adroit flip-floppery.
