WE ALL WEAR EM, BUT SOME HIDE BEHIND THE ROSE COLORED GLASSES OF THEIR OWN SELF RIGHTEOUS TRUTH
Posted 12 weeks 4 days ago byThere will always be many people of different colors, races, political view points and of course, sexual preferences. But who is anyone to say what is right or wrong for any one human being just because they are different from you. Instead of beating around the gay bush issue, let me just jump right in by saying unless you are GOD, no one has the right to point a finger at someone just because they are gay and the choices they make. You can have an opinion, but when it goes beyond the opinion and into self righteous indignation, that is where I draw the line. How about you?
I have been involved, as many have on this site, in a thread that has gotten completely out of hand, and has become a battle of wills. Sort of an ongoing RBA sporting event. Grab a thought, ring side and watch the heads roll! No matter how many times I have tried to end this thread, it seems as if it breeds roach energy. Let the accusations begin!
Whether gays want to marry or not is their business. Period. I find it completely double standard that No one tells heterosexuals who and when they are to marry. They just do it because "they can."
Whether gays want to raise children in their household as a family unit is their business, and from what I have read, raising children in gay houses does not make for gay children. Lord knows many heterosexual married couples have gay children so someone explain that one away. The bottom line here is a loving home breeds loving children. End of story!
Now, where I draw the line would be someone accusing a gay person of being a sexual predator just because of their preference. Yes, that is right and probably one of the most absurd statements I have ever read. That would be like saying, because you're black, you are going to hold me up at gun point, or you must be a crack head, I better not leave my house or a black person will kill me. Not true!
Where I draw the line is when someone would accuse a gay person under the age of 18 (or any age) to have been raped which caused that youth to be gay and then, later in life become a child predator. Seriously? Is this how far we have come as a human race that we are so bored with our own lives that we have this need to attack those who think differently than ourselves?
Where I draw the line is someone in complete gay ignorance passing it off as concern. I guess even I have gay-dar then, as most gays call it because I you sniff a homophobic person miles away.
No wonder why so many gay kids are left with no other place to turn except suicide. It's really too late for me to post percentages, and frankly, if you have read my blogs, I don't as a rule go there anyway. I leave the numbers to John2000. In any event, instead of being more supportive, some have ridiculed these kids right into the grave instead of facing their own fears head on.
We, in the larger scope of things, may not always have control over who our next President will be unless We as a whole, as a country stand in unity and shout from the tops of the great mountains to the gravel in our streets what we believe in and make it happen... but we do have control when it comes to our own personal behavior regarding how we respond to someone else's lifestyle and how we do react.
The question I would ask?
Why do most have this dying need to hide behind rose colored glasses shaded in self righteousness to defend their truth? Remember, I am merely the bell ringer and am here only to explore the many aspects of why we are all here blogging. It's late, and maybe I should have waited until posting tomorrow morning. Just missed being ever so present and wanted to share what was on my mind. I invite you to do the same.
Good Night Moon!

Now, bringing this topic in the school of young children is debatable to me. If there is due cause I believe this is part of life and should be brought into the school system, for this very reason. The young boy that was killed because he shared he had a crush on another student of which was what, elementary or junior high. In any event, when something like that happened, education is key.
I agree to disagree with you on the above points. The points I find abominable are those that feel if you are gay you are a sexual predator. I don't know how many more times to express this except to say, I am truly done discussing this. Now it has become a sporting event. In me trying to pose a question of great concern on both sides, and bring my ponderings into another arena, let's drop it and keep it simply Obama vs. McCain. That seems to be what everyone is happy with because it's tangible. Being gay, is not a tangible topic that most can grasp. It's not as black and white as this election. Ooooppss sorry, I mean white and white...

Well said. I have said something similar on more than one occasion to youth group, little league baseball team.
"...unless you are GOD, no one has the right to point a finger at someone just because they are gay and the choices they make."
You could substitute "a cheat", "a drunk", "an adulterer", "prideful" or various other phrases for "gay" and this would be true. If I feel the need to point fingers, it usually means I should be pointing myself.
gaydar? new to me
Submitted on July 10th, 2008 by John 2000I did very poorly on the test at http://www.okcupid.com/gaydar
"You personally got 9 of the 20 people correct and were better at recognizing guys than girls. Overall, you guessed better than 4% of all test takers."
In real life I have often been quite surprised ... often it is just when people make it obvious with various clues or statements.
If opposing gay marriage makes me qualified for homophobic hate label then so be it.
If being opposed to dragging this topic into the schooling of young children makes me qualified for homophobic hate label then so be it.
I can think of a few more so be its to mention, but as you say, it is getting late.
