Meet Our US congress the ones who are to be our examples!
Posted 14 weeks 3 days ago byI thought I would tell you a bit about our current congress. You know the 435 who are in Washington DC who are supposed to represent and be the example of America!
Lets see.
36 have been arrested or had a charge of Spousal abuse.
7 have been arrest for fraud!
19 have written bad checks
117 are responsible for 1 or more businesses going bankrupt
3 have been in prison for assault
71 can not get a credit card because they have such bad credit
14 have been arrested for using or selling drugs!
21 are being sued for bad faith or other related civil issues.
84 have been arrested just in the last 12 months for DWI
Does not matter which party they belong! They are all corrupt! But in case your wondering, 62% were democrat 37% Republican and 1% independent.
Of the worst crimes, 74% democrat and 26% Republican. This is the kind of stuff you can not make up! Let the truth set America Free!
After all, its these morons who are making laws to keep the law abiding citizens in line!

Submitted on July 2nd, 2008 by PabloThese are just the things that have happened in the last 12 months! And yes to these being active term congressmen /women.
I did not do a cross reference of all 435 to see if there is an all out criminal who does multiple items. However, for each listed item is a different congressman. Wether or not a congressman is on all the lists, I did not cross reference and honestly, its too much trouble! I do not have that much time to look into 435 different individuals!
Yes there is an open mapping of these at the gov website. Wether or not its whate you are looking for, not sure.
All the investigations and most of the hearings are in private and not open to the public. The Ethics committee makes a yearly report on what they have done.
I got this from a friend who emailed me the list from the Washington Post.
Censuring is currently a joke. Few are even called before the ethics committee and even when they do is nothing more than a formal letter saying " Do not do it again!" Some of these guys have dozens and dozens of these letters without any real ramifications while others just laugh because they are very high ranking members and normally no actions are taken against them!
Example Pelosi enaging in Foreign Policy with formal talks with a hostile nation (Syria). The charge officially could be anywhere from Treason to unethical behavior that is a cover all title. Pelosi got a no action from the ethics committee who did not even investigate the charges at all, which is a violation of the Law and the Constitution!
For this list its covered under Rule 14. see:http://ethics.house.gov/Media/PDF/110th%20Committee%20Rules.pdf
After a very long and drawn out process that they call an investigation then review with another long drawn out Response by the charged congressman, then Rule 24 is applied as to what actions can be taken if the committee chooses to take an action.
But Censure is rare, repremand or no action is the normal course of action that is given for nearly all cases before the committee. I do not know of any in recent history who has gone through an impeachment vote for expulsion for anything other than bribery where the FBI or other police caught them dead to rights.
In fact, when I looked it up, there have been only 6 representatives in the history of the US who have been Cencured! 8 for the Senate and 4 presidents. In fact, Bill Clinton and G W Bush were the last two.
For the House the last one was in 1983 for Dan Crane R-IL and Gerry Studds D-MA who each raped a congressional page. Both admitted to being gay and could not resist their urges to have the young pages. One page at the time was 15 the other was 16. The laws in 1983 did not address rape in the same way its done today! It was extremely rare to have homosexual rape as a charge.
number of Senate gone through expulsion, 9. Most of which predates WWII only 4 since WWII with the last in 1990 which was done as pay back by the Democrats. The republican was kicked out for accepting a gift and improper reimbursement expense request.
During the Regan presidency where 117 congressmen and senators were caught taking gifts and bribes and it was a huge scandle! Lead to the mid 1990s replacement of the Democrats by the Republicans when most of the senate came up for their 6 year renewal terms.
Number of House reps is 4! 3 who were democrats in modern times meaning 2 in 1980 and the last one 2002 for extensive bribery and other racketeering, Fraud and Tax fraud. The forth was in 1797 for treason
I will tell you the House needs to be cleaned up! But not as much as the Senate!!

Submitted on July 1st, 2008 by koolmom21I would also like to add a third question to John's questions. Have these crimes been commented before or during their term?
Thank You.
Two questions about the list Pablo ..
Submitted on July 1st, 2008 by John 20001) Is there overlap in the numbers? eg. some members have 3, 4, 5 ... of the charges
2) Is there any open mapping to individual 'representatives' readily available?
How often is it that these people even censure bad behavior? I guess it would be a full time job, and they are afraid of the ball coming back in their court - a matter of two gangs fighting back and forth (business as usual).
Congress - smooth criminal
Submitted on July 1st, 2008 by rom12921I was being facetious "hinting", "remote possibility"...?
Anyhow, I believe you are correct to expect more from a representative of the people than criminal behavior. Do you know if there are rules for dismissal based on felony convictions?
If you can't vote as a felon, how can you be voted for.

I just think that if a person is going to represent America, be in congress!, that they not conduct themselves in a criminal manner.
If a congressman wants to drink and drive, sell or do drugs beat people up, criminally defraud people and break contracts, then they should leave office and allow a more honorable person to represent Americans.
Its not asking to much of congress to not be a house of criminals and criminal acts is it?
Contrast to Clinton Admin
Submitted on July 1st, 2008 by rom12921Yassar Arafat most frequent guest at the Clinton White House.
I believe Pablo may be hinting there's a remote possibility that Congressional membera may not be the optimal group of people best suited for making rules for others if they occaisionally have some minor indiscretions.
Abramoff
Submitted on July 1st, 2008 by John 2000associated with many many dems also. Why be so cycloptic with the aspersions?
TO NAME A THIEF ---
Submitted on July 1st, 2008 by AnonymousAccording to ABC World News with Charles Gibson, a Congressional report shows that convicted Republican super-lobbyist Jack Abramoff had much more access to the Bush White House than previously disclosed by the Bush Administration. Abramoff may have had up to 450 contacts with White House officials, including nine with Bush confidante Karl Rove.
I believe the majority are GOP that reflects an old list of bad-boys or gals == Roy Blunt(R-MO) Randy Cunningham(R-CA) Tom Feeney(R-FL) William jefferson(D-LA) Marilyn Musgrave(R-CO) Bob Ney(R-OH) Richard Pombo(R-CA) Rick Renzi (R-AZ) Charles Taylor(R-NC) Maxine Waters(D-CA) Senator Rick Santorum(R-PA) Senator Bill Frist(R-TN) Senator Conrad Burns(R-MT) And in the "Jack in the House" previously linked, a list of of Jack Abramoff's closest allies is provided: Reps. DeLay, Ney, Hayworth, Hart, Cantor, Pombo,Doolittle, and Senators Burns, Vitter, Cornyn, and allies: Grover Norquist, Ralph Reed, Michael Scanlon,Susan Hirschmann, Ed Buckham, and Neil Volz
