Hillary Lovers - Don't Vote In 2008 and Vote For Her In 2012
Posted 10 weeks 1 day ago byI am no lover of Senator Obama, or Senator Clinton, but I do think that politics is politics and those who have a particular vision of who they want in the White House should stick to their guns. I'll elaborate.
Voting for Senator Obama in 2008 might ensure his election this year. This guarantees he would be the nominee in 2012 for the Democratic Party, meaning the earliest chance she would have to be President would be in 2016. This is not the most practical thing. Age should not matter, but it does, and if John McCain loses in 2008 his age will have a lot to do with it. A 69 year old Clinton running for the White House will be a losing propostion. So what to do?
Dont vote for Senator Obama and get your candidate chosen for 2012. An Obama defeat would give Clinton and her backers bragging rights. She should have been chosen and she would have won.
Of course a Clinton backer would not want to vote for John McCain, so the only answer then is to not vote. Not voting can be a form of protest. I have no doubt a good number of McCain haters in the Republican Party will not vote for him and will stay home. I suggest Clinton backers do the same IF you ever want to see your candidate as the Democratic Presidential nominee.
Of course if one is happy with either Obama or Clinton then the idea is a non-starter, but I have heard enough from Clinton backers to feel that they really like her and really dislike him. Then this is the only real choice.
She will not be chosen for Vice-President. The jeers that were produced at a rally this week at just the utterance of her name shows how Obama backers hate her. Not choosing her for VP is a slap at the 18 million voters who voted for her. If I were a Democrat, I am not though-just an independent-I would not support a candidate whose backers disrespect my candidate that much.
It is a slap in the face to assume all Clinton voters will vote for Obama even if he does not choose her for VP.

Lets not get carried away
Submitted on June 20th, 2008 by TreeTopFlyerWhat happened to Hillary wasn't her famous vast right wing conspiracy.
Obama was the media golden boy. FDR could have been running against Obama and he would have got thrashed by the media because they were for Obama. It has nothing to do with the fact that she is a she. It is the fact that she wasn't Obama.
And lets be realistic, Obama is a horrible candidate and will be a epically terrible president...if we get to that. But Hillary was also a badly flawed candidate with no experience and nearly the same amount of bad baggage as Obama - namely Pres Clinton and his presidency. Turns out that his popularity has plummeted since they left office…a fact that gives me a small flicker of a hope for the collective intelligence of the electorate.
I'M STILL VOTING FOR CLINTON
Submitted on June 19th, 2008 by janmbI will write-in a vote for Clinton as my way of DISSING the democratic party who stayed SILENT thru all the time Hillary was being attacked. Not strictly Hillary-bashing--it showed how much this country hates women.
While some think that her near-win will make women more inclined to run for president. I say -not for 100 years !! Any woman would be crazy to put herself thru that and lose because the MEDIA withholds information-- claims she's losing right after IOWA --and the list goes on.
The every day bashing--from the MEDIA --political experts ---the comedians targeting Hillary was something never seen before. It was not on the ISSUES---it was pure sexism. Everyone knows she was better qualified and this country doesn't care about qualified--let the high school drop-out run for office next time---he'll probabaly win because it will mean CHANGE.
Alternative to Clinton write-in protest

Read the FAQ, the idea is great.
Then we can gather the numerical strength to show both parties how disgusted we all are.
10k write in votes for Clinton won't even register. Multiple hundred thousand votes for Mickey may.
CLINTON 2012
Submitted on June 18th, 2008 by REEDDARRELLPRAETORIAN I LIKE YOUR IDEA BUT FOR SOME REASON I HAVE AN IDEA YOU SUPPORT McCAIN.BUT I STILL LIKE THE 2012 PLAN I'M NOT VOTING FOR OBAMA,OR McCAIN BUT I'M GOING TO WRITE IN SEN. CLINTON'S NAME FOR PRESIDENT,AS I HOPE ALL CLINTON SUPPORTERS WILL DO.I KNOW THE ONLY WAY IT CAN COUNT WOULD BE FOR HER TO APPROVE A WRITE IN CAMPAIGN.BUT I'M DOING IT AS A PROTEST VOTE,THIS WILL SHOW OBAMA AND THE DNC THEY MAY NOT COUNT ALL THE VOTES,BUT I STILL GET TO VOTE FOR WHO I WANT.
The Agent of Change?
Submitted on June 18th, 2008 by John 2000It is insult to injury as well as slap in the face to assume that the Clinton supporters would automatically vote for Obama EVEN IF she were somehow pasted onto the ticket at this point. It could only mean that they want to use her and her supporters out of a sense of desperation, and that he doesn't feel he can close the deal. It would be too transparent, and besides there are many Clinton supporters who would not vote for Obama under any circumstances. I agree that her smartest option is to wait until 2012 since the next four years is likely to be a bumpy ride no matter who wins in November.
Just as there are tons of Obama people who very much hate Hillary there are scads of Clinton people who despise Barack ... you know, that speaker who doesn't seem to have any reputable connections in his previous life.
If Barack were really the agent of change moniker that he clings to, heck, he would already have boldly announced a running mate.
