Topic of the Day: Al Gore -- bane or boost for Obama?
Posted 11 weeks 5 days ago bySo it is official. Al Gore is supporting Barack Obama. I, for one am completely disappointed, BUT not surprised in the least considering Gore's relationship with the Clintons. Gore has promised to do whatever campaigning is necessary to get Obama in the office. This also means, as far as I am concerned, that Obama has a BETTER CHANCE of winning now with Gore behind him. Does this mean Gore will accept an offer of VP if asked? So, without ranting off the map here, I leave this rant to you here on RBA... How do you feel about this?

Thoughts
So Speacial.

Question
Submitted on June 17th, 2008 by rom12921"Obama has a BETTER CHANCE of winning now with Gore behind him" Why? Is it name recognition? Does it diminish the 'Change Washington' message?
Mistaken hate
Submitted on June 17th, 2008 by rom12921I don't know who the "right" is you refer, but I don't hate Al Gore. When Gore's book (Inconveniently Untrue) abandons statistical methods, has significant factual ommissions, false causation assumptions and more conjecture than evidence, then you have the Rush Limbaugh show (propaganda).
It's shallow manipulation, not nearly as convincing as the more complex WMD argument.
Why doesn't the left (ambiguous homogenous non-existent group) realize that you can disagree without the emotional, name-calling, bitterness and hatred?
Just a thought
Submitted on June 17th, 2008 by AnonymousDEMS have a history of losing these presidential elections. Has to be a reason for it.
Do they have a problem nominating the people who have the BEST chance to win ?
I'm askin--- this time.
Why all the hoopla?
Submitted on June 17th, 2008 by LibertyOh big Woo,..He didn't throw support at a nominee when there was a choice between Obama and Clinton?..Why? Because last election he chose to support Howard Dean and John Kerry became the nominee. Guess that shows how much weight his support carries. Is it really shocking he supports Obama?..Who was he going to support? McCain? Come on, Hillary Clinton is supporting Obama now..This isn't about belief in an individual to better America. This same dog and pony show has went on for decades. That is 'change' heading to Washington if I've ever seen it...
Why should Gore
Submitted on June 17th, 2008 by John 2000... want or need any specific Administration position? The US ponds are too small for his international place in history. He is not an architect or a bureaucrat; he is a visionary dreamer and influencer. Free to roam. Why confine himself to a box? Why get sullied? Why risk failure?
It could be worse, it could
Submitted on June 16th, 2008 by wishnevskyIt could be worse, it could even be a worse Al. Sharpton, i mean. It is futile to try and make a sane comment here, so i will just snark.
Or maybe post blank verse in some unknown dialect.
Gore will not be VP. Been there, done that, got the pension.
Plus he is too smart for Obama. And Gore has already been swift-boated. So if it makes any difference, maybe Gore wants to be Secretary of Interior.
Everybody sees it as a done deal, Obama for at least one term. I wonder... But i don't care much. It's up to you oh-so-hip-Gen-X'ers now..
And the Chinese and the Brazilians and the Russians and the Indians and the Arabs.
Gore? a footnote. Serves only as someone for the Right to hate. Hatedy hate hate..
Feel better now?
If you hate him enough evolution will be reversed and global warming evaporate.
Richardson might be Veep, or a woman. Who is the highest ranking Hispanic woman in Congress?
been in the making for some time
Submitted on June 16th, 2008 by koolmom21Al Gore was told by Sen. Obama that he would be his global warming alarmist along time ago. I do not believe that Sen. Obama wants him as his main man. I could be wrong but Al Gore does not seem to fit in Sen. Obama V.P. plans. I do see that some position is and has been in the making for some time. Al Gore fits in well for everyone who believes in Global warming and will get their vote. Sen. Obama will use him in this way. My educated guess will be that Sen. Obama will pick Bill Richardson. He will get him his much needed Hispanic votes.
The Dream Team!
Submitted on June 16th, 2008 by HamiltonIt would be like having Hillary and Bill all rolled into one, noble prize and all. Hussein loves the spotlight too much to invite any competition to the dance. Its’ going to be hard enough for the Messiah and the Michelle to both fit their victim egos in the westwing. Big Al in the Eastwing would be too much distraction; Big Al loves the light almost as much as the Messiah. He’ll never pick Big Al, some nobody to carry his bags and obeisance when spoken to, some old democrat.
Hillary is the next democrat president, after the Messiah. She’s been promised…again. Therefore there cannot be a heavy wait VP.

White Power
Submitted on June 16th, 2008 by rom12921How can an accomplished fiction- writer, internet inventor, former Vice-President, tobacco farmer, world traveler be bad for a campaign?
Courageous of Mr Gore to wait until Senator Clinton withdraws to support the presumptive nominee. Really going out on a limb.
Well then...

A Bold Move
Submitted on June 16th, 2008 by John 2000... and to come out so early is remarkable! 'remark'.
The man who lost his home state of Tennessee in 2000 will now help get the swing vote in Michigan alongside John Edwards who was booted out of North Carolina. What is there to rant about? It will be like watching a 'Three Blind Mice' cartoon show. Maybe a surprise guest appearance by Oprah will liven it up.
It was a no-brainer made by the no-brainer. Who else was there?
It is why Gore would lose even to "Limping Gabsburg Hapnik".
Submitted on June 16th, 2008 by KonstantinIt is why All Gore would lose elections
Even to the "Leopold Gabsburg Hapnik".
One must have will to stand erected,
But not like dammy plagio-Levitnik
That resemble the Petuhated.
Petuhov-Gruber, a babby killer,
Since childhood is attempting
Kill me by his craizy "trillers",
Plagiarize, while venerating,
Teaching Gore to be a Gruber.
I couldn't see the face of Gore,
So, I joined campaign too late.
But, even if Junior was as bad,
As the "Gabsburg Hapnik" mad,
Gore couldn't pass through gate.
Konstantin.
