Hunreds of viruses on screen!
No minute (or less} I can last!
It is Microsoft ant the Government!
It is corporations and their agencies!

From destroing system and demanding money for protection,
Through porno-slides (I never browsed) and Russaian "mat"!

Submitted on June 22nd, 2008 by John 2000I wondered where you were ... if they had taken you away, or just your computer, or you had another 'attack'. So it sounds like you are back now with issues on 'spyware' itself. Of course, you have to be most careful with your selection there.
I made a mistake with my laptop a few months ago in fetching a free-trial analysis and fix-it program ... very stupidly of course. I have not gone in to it real far to fix the problems that it caused, since it is time consuming and I have options.
But this particular one does not actually infect the computer but rather seeds populations of infection indicators in the proper locations so that they are reported as viruses etc. It operates the scam under the guise of the reputable virus detection that was already on the computer ... which reports the possible issues. Lots of popups and warnings. Then the analysis tries to sell additional software to fix the problems. Very clever, like the EU in slowly taking over. If you try to remove the software through the offered 'click' way of doing it, it buries itself more invisibly into the core. Looking online for others who have the same issue will lead to a variety of tedious steps to finally eliminate the criminal. One day I will take the time.

Submitted on June 15th, 2008 by John 2000much of the general consensus seems to indicate that simply viewing direct from youtube is safe. problems arise more from responding 'yes' to download 'upgrade to latest', etc codecs, plugins, etc in order to view or view better. I think the link below provides some good insights ... particularly the vmware notes.

When they make hackers/virus builders subject to capital punishment, on the town square in public view, maybe then facilities like YouTube will become safe enough for me.
But with 2 t-bytes of data storage, four computer systems and a hell of a lot of critical data, I take no chances.

There is no doubt that there is a lot of cyber war and cyber terror going on these days and it is easy to 'accidently' import bad things. You need to have a legitimate virus protection that has latest updates and you need to have a good firewall installed. I don't know where you are located, so I don't know what may or may not be available to your situation.
Anyway, I hope you weren't a victim of a targeted attack, and I am sorry to hear of your problem. I was kind of wondering just today where you were ... no activity for a few days. I spent some time studying Georgia a couple of nights ago since I thought you did mention Georgia in your history (not sure). But, whether or not, it sure is an interesting place. It was fun to see a modern photograph of the exact site where the final scene of Dr Zhivago was filmed. I think I was tracking down Posner, etc at the time.
Anyway, some day you have to make me more clear about the specifics of the intellectual property you are so angry about ... if you feel you can trust me and/or your machine environment.
