Courtesy of Aljazeera -- a 22 country American Election poll
Posted 13 weeks 3 days ago byThis IPSOS poll is, I think, of passing interest.
"It surveyed 22,605 "broad elites, Internet Intelligaged, and digital information opinion leaders about corporate, social & political, foreign investment, expansion, the environment, and other critical business risk affecting the business landscape", via a minimum of 1,000 interviews each in 22 countries across the Ipsos global online panel access network, with results made available through the Global@dvisor research service digital platform within 20 days of initiating the global survey. The margin of error per country is +/-3.1, 19 times out of 20."

I do not know why Islamic countries are not included. I thought it might be that polling is not an option, but then I see China ... I wonder what 'broad elites' is?
Anyway, enjoy and comment.

SUCH A DISGRACE..
Submitted on June 4th, 2008 by Skye RiversEvery time I see a political analyst come on TV and start talking about their views as if they were Svengallis about Obamamomentum, I think to myself... are these people stupid or what? How can any of these Harvard Graduate, Washington News Reporting, educated at best, analyst get onTV and horrah Obama.
TODAY someone actually said something compassionate about HIllary. Wolf B was going on and on (trying to stir the political drama pot) about how Hillary should concede and why hasn't she and yadda yadda ya... this person, catching Wolf off guard said back to him look, give this woman a break, she needs time to regroup and has basically gotten a raw deal here (I am paraphrasing) and the media should leave her alone so she can figure out what she is going to do next. He went on to say how respected she was, what a great campaign she ran and how this really needs to stop where she is concerned. This was the first time I heard ANYONE come to her defense.
It is indeed a disgrace how the media has sailed this campaign boat. That leads me back to my original comment. How can all these well educated people on air (for starters) be so thrown by Obama. AND, you're right... Michelle as First Lady makes me want to vomit. Every time I see her on TV, all I see is utter darkness and I ain't talking about her skin color. There is something very wrong with this picture. He must be very connected because Obama has been groomed for this very thing for a long time. No matter what the Obamas do or say, they are excused for it. Hillary got slammed for it every chance the media had to just torpedo her. What else can I tell you, except I can't even comprehend what is about to come if either McCain or Obama get in Office. ::shakin head:::
Obama sparkling
Submitted on June 4th, 2008 by Anonymousclean and sparkly. brings to mind all the so-called news magazines putting auras around him and halos etc. They always photograph him from below, giving him an immense look. The way the media has controlled this electorate is a disgrace.
far less scary indeed

VOTERS DO NOT THINK
Submitted on June 4th, 2008 by janmbObama refuses to denounce his own family and his own brothers who are in open revolt in Kenya and are doing the most vile and most disgusting things all in the name of extreme radical Islamic ideals of Shariah Law. And for those who are curious, Luo tribe is Sunni muslim!
Almost half of all democratic primary voters have been hearing the lies about how hILLARY haD no chance to win for MONTHS, making the lie the determining factor as we stood by our TV's and radios helplessly shouting
..."Then what is the purpose of the super delegates if they are to rubber stamp.........even after the mentor- Pastor Wright--info that was with-held
til after the voting in IOWA and many other states.
Less--scary is John-- no matter if he is ancient.
Oh yes, Skye...

AIPAC
Submitted on June 4th, 2008 by Skye RiversAll shiney, clean and sparkly... Obama was on the AIPAC speech. TO the point of a programed robot... O yea, Obama bot. Seriously it was rather disturbing.. Hillary on the other hand (need more tissues) was showing a softer than before Hillary, but with strength and preserverance. I felt for her. I liked her speech but she did not concede, and frankly at this point, she needs some Hillary time without big mouth Bill to figure out what she is going to do next and when she will be officially conceed to this nomination. One thing while she was speaking at AIPAC, it felt a bit forced in some of the areas. Anyone else feel that?
If you get a chance
Submitted on June 4th, 2008 by John 2000to watch the Obama/Clinton tag team speeches to AIPAC from earlier today, you will be amazed and dazzled. Using his presumed president-to-be pose and set jaw, Obama was spouting a lot of MUSTS and blah-dee-dahs and Hillary was speaking the the softer human side (with strength of course). This was 'their' first activity now that the people (with a lot of help) had lifted them up so close to the sun.
Appeasement
Submitted on June 4th, 2008 by RespectfulguestInternational appeasement is real popular especially during an election year when the country is at war.
Appeasement is great during the short term, garners lots of support domestically and applause from the international community.
The unfortunate part of appeasement is for all the short term popularity, long term it gets us into bad situations.
Just look at our recent history of International Appeasement and what it is costing us now.
After the first Iraq war, Saddam Hussein broke several UN Resolutions during the mid to late 90's and was never seriously confronted. Again during the mid to late 90's an enemy declared war on the US, hit US and allied targets several times, murdering innocent people, and we largely ignored the threat of Al Qaeda.
It is now 2008 and we are still paying for those inactions of largely a decade or more ago. Would rather have a Commander and Chief be unpopular in the short term, than have to fight another war down the road.
Bingo!

BIG RED FLAG
Submitted on June 3rd, 2008 by koolmom21Of coarse they want Sen. Obama to become the next president. Most of the outside world would love to see the U.S.A. fall on her face or really her knees. Some people fear the U.S. and others just hate us. There are some that feel we as a people are all spoil rotten brats. They are so full of envy and jealous of our country and our freedom. The fact that over half of the outside want Sen. Obama should also be a BIG RED FLAG!
P.S. Excellent topic.
