Oh yes, play the McCain Temper Card
Submitted on May 18th, 2008 by John 2000I knew you were holding one up the sleeve. But, I am ready for it.
I can trust a man with a temper that shows from time to time. It shows that he is not hiding all the time. It's not to say that he doesn't regret the words, and recognize the 'mistake'.
But, you know that Obama surely has a temper. I see it as a bulging volcano constantly being repressed in public. Would you not love to be privy to some of his off camera rages? I would.
Anyway, back to the topic of appeasement : here is a nice humorous view of what I call Appeasement, UN style.

Submitted on May 18th, 2008 by IronguyObama's little quotes are about his life. It's not as if America never had a racist in her land. Maybe, just maybe, people where a little apprehensive to him because he was different. I honestly think that those quotes don't even compaire to the ones John McCain made. He called his wife a C...

Submitted on May 18th, 2008 by John 2000-The supporters no more reflect the probable presumptive nominee than the antagonists? I will have to 'grok' on that notion for a while.
-The presumed actual projection of the man will step forward boldly into the gleaming star bangled light and disown his supporters? "But, uh, look, I really am me! I'm not the Pied Piper".
-When I watch the current Story of O now, it all goes thru the filter of his own words, such as :
"People were satisfied so long as you were courteous and smiled and made no sudden moves. They were more than satisfied; they were relieved-such a pleasant surprise to find a well-mannered young black man who didn’t seem angry all the time."
Then, I look closely at his cold eyes.
Check out a robust quotation list of O's from "Dreams from my Father" here, my friend :

... and rationalize to me, why it is that as a non black, I should not fully reject his candidacy.
maybe the supporters but not the nominee
Submitted on May 18th, 2008 by IronguySeldom do I see anything too terrible from HRC or Obama or even McCain running an add similar to that video. Now their supporters... that's a whole other story.
It's wrong regardless which ever side features it. An ad saying the inadequacy to McCain becoming president is due to his old age. That's wrong, and his age should not matter.
Your light as you put it, Is more or less a mirror mimicking what you see. I don't approve of a man that approves of a failed administration that majority of historians will write down as a failure. he shows experience but experience means nothing if you have not learned from it. That's just an opinion though. One grounded on McCain's views. Not his age, sex, heritage, or ethnicity.
Don't get me wrong, I think your a nice guy too, I also think your a pretty bright guy. But you have to understand, that video didn't sit well with me because it was backwards thinking. I'm sure you would get upset too if someone was ignorant enough to go off on McCain because he was wight, male, and old. Understandably too. That's backwards thinking at it's best. It's anti-American, and makes our political system look like a joke. Hence why, I never go off any runner for the white house on such petty things or manufacture reasons of hate.
Personally, I don't give a
Submitted on May 18th, 2008 by John 2000Personally, I don't give a hang about 'universal health care'. It is just another giant step into the realm of total dependence on the state to take care of everyone at a very high cost for lower quality care - probably on a downwardly sliding scale. I talk to people in Europe too, who can first hand verify how poor it is ... unless of course you are special.
As far as hateful presentations go, I have seen far more, far less grounded in facts, in videos and commentaries directed from your own (Obama) party toward your better (democratic) candidate, HRC, believe me. I have seen the vile directed at Bush from the very beginning of his first administration - a constant bile-filled torrent of often totally unreasoned pathology. But, it is wrong to shed some biased light on the blessed and anointed one. Please do not make me laugh. I take no real pleasure from the way I see things. And you are a nice guy. I don't think the video really implied that you must be a communist or anything like that. Thanks for your feedback. Later.
A sad day when politics is substitued for mis-guided hate
Submitted on May 17th, 2008 by IronguyI just feel being called a communist because I'm a democrat (which that video clearly states) is a bit over doing it. I feel they are trying to "manufacture" reasons for hating him. Saying he is "Un-American" is the general overtone I hear.
If your going to denounce him, I feel it should be done by his views and track record. He supports universal health care for example. Why not show a video somehow showing the flaws in that. Showing how that idea may not be the best one. Instead I get this bigotry because the man has a Muslim name. That's not politics, that's just hate. Though even if he had an original American name, I guess I could still see the same thing going on.
please provide an explanation to me for why the man's Muslim name prevents him from being a decent nominee? Was he not born an American? Has he not helped the people that have elected him? I feel this video is just blatant bigotry. It mentions nothing about the man's ideas or even bothers to challenge them. I implore everyone to reconsider taking this video seriously. It's a mockery of our political system, even John McCain would say this is a joke and he would be right.
I have respect for people who don't support Obama. Not because they don't like him because he's different. But because they don't hold a candle to his views on the world. That I can respect.
As for the time line bit, it's just that. A time line of events. You can't hope to learn everything about a person just by looking at the timeline. It doesn't even mention some of the bills he past at all. I will give you this, it presents facts, with a lob sided view. I like how they mention some obscure controversy over some myspace page obama made. I never even heard of that, but being that no one is talking about it now, must indicate it was irrelevant.
I will give you this, the questionable endorsements will raise an eyebrow with people. But this isn't exclusive to him. Bush, McCain, and every other politician has done this before. I doubt he continues with it though. He couldn't afford anything like that.
How to build a political career and run for President without
Submitted on May 17th, 2008 by John 2000... any qualifications.
Well, okay, I can see where that might have come across as a little over-the-top hateful to an admitted Obama supporter.
Let's consider the question of qualifications ; certainly less acrimonious in nature. Let's look at a cursory view of his time-line from where he was to where he finds himself (there are some good links to follow within).
http://www.politibyte.com/modules.php?na...
Personally, I see no real ground for personal qualification. He is indeed a created 'rock-star'.
I have personally looked down various other more detailed information about his Chicago (mob) connections and dealings - and believe me, it is not a pretty picture.
I placed this item entitled "Was there an Obama/Daley deal on the Presidency"

in a topic a posted a couple of weeks ago.
I can't stop you from your opinion.
WOW........... I JUST DON'T GET IT...
Submitted on May 17th, 2008 by Skye RiversInteresting SIGHT ;) AND I do mean SIGHT... where do people get this stuff?
Have the American people lost their minds; including SuperD's, rockstars, actors and bears supporting this guy? Has someone put something in all water, because frankly I don't get it, and the thought of this guy in office scares me!
McNasty scares me. A real Napolean Bonaparte.
At least with Hillary, you know what you are getting to some degree.
Ironguy, you are very passionate about what you share and very inspiring. For me, Obama-Bot is not the man for the job, and that is my opinion and I completely respect yours. We all have bones in our closets, but we are not running for President. If you have bones, at least be honest about it, and that is what I am having a problem with where Obama-Bot is concerned.
If liberals are communists, are conservatives nazi's?
Submitted on May 17th, 2008 by IronguyThat's what I take away from that horribly done, 13 minute long, Hate spewing video. It disgusted me.
Here are a few quotes I picked out of the video.
1) "not one, or two, but three Islamic names" That burnt me up bad. I'm sorry but unless your name is sitting bull, your family where immigrants. How does a man's name determine anything first off? If my name was Karl, that must make me a Marxist.
2) "Fact, Obama's FATHER is a Muslim from Kenya and his mother is white."
Because we all know every Muslim is a terrorist. That must make Obama a terrorist. I have a friend who has a grandfather that was born in Nazi Germany, do you think my friend is a Nazi? No he isn't.
3) "He attended a Muslim school" Did they also tell you he was a kid when you went to that school? Did they mention it could have been because his Muslim father wanted him to experience God is some form? Let me guess, did this school teach people to strap bombs on their chest and blow themselves up???
4) "Vague Voting Record"
http://obamasresume.org/
5)"Cuban Flag in one of Obama's Campaign Offices."
Ya like hung that himself... It couldn't have been the women sitting at the desk signing pappers like it's just another day. Obama even said it himself that he is a capitalist.
"Equally appalling is Obama’s eagerness to praise the glories of the capitalist system that produces grotesque fortunes at the top of America’s “inherited social order” while tens of millions of Americans go without adequate food, clothing, shelter, and health insurance." - RadicalLeft.net
^^^^ Commies hate him....
6) "Obama refuses to where a flag"
Ya, because it wouldn't make him look artificial now wouldn't it? He should be more like Bush who wares the pin all the time and exploits the nation.
7) "refuses to place hand over heart during the national anthem."
Is this America or Nazi Germany? Do we need patriot classes to know how to be a good American?
8) "He has attended trinity church of over 20 years"
You know something, because his pasture is a racists, doesn't mean he is. How can I prove this? I'm friends with a self proclaimed Nazi. Does that make me a raciest? No it doesn't. How can I prove this? I voted for Obama. Not because the man was white or black, but because he had views that I liked. It's called tolerance. This is a nation of Tolerance, at least it should be.
9) The reason why Obama condemns Imus for his racist remark, is because he wasn't the one he grew up with. He knew the pasture forever, and was friends with him. I won't like, I'm good friends with the Nazi guy. That doesn't mean I agree with his views up and down. It just means I have tolerance for other views.
10 "Liberation Theology has always expanded government control"
Okay, at this point, the guy is being ridiculous. He's calling democrats communists. What party do you think tries it's hardest to limit government control and tries to privatize everything? The Nazi party of course. But wait? isn't that also what the republican's want to do? yes it is, does that make them Nazi's? No it doesn't. How does more government intervention make democrats communists? This is so asinine.
11) "Black liberation theology"
Okay, we know the pasture is a racist already. We know for a fact obama is not a racist. We know for a fact Obama is a Christan of the United Church of Christ. More asinine talk is what that amounted too...
12) "Obama wants to talk to Iran"
Because it would just be better if we blew up a million people or so. Reagan didn't blow up Russia, he talked to them. The end result? America won. Thank you.
My view of this video?
The most Anti-American thing that ever crept out of the internet. I'm sure there's worse, but this is a good contender. While I could never question McCain's patriotism, I could question his ability to lead a nation. After 8 failed years of bush rule, do we really need another 4 to tell us that this is the wrong path for America to take? I could never question Obama's patriotism, like wise, I say he is just what America needs.
Here is good discourse
Submitted on May 17th, 2008 by John 2000Here is good discourse regarding the mistake of Reagan meeting with Iran. (a very excellent article and reminder)
http://meria.idc.ac.il/journal/2007/issu...
... and what good did Albright's venture really accomplish, I ask you. I believe that Israel was forced to take out a nuclear facility being built in Syria recently.
The Rumsfeld / Saddam thing. Wow, that is a lot more complicated, and would require much research to fully assess. Politics often makes strange bed-fellows. Technically, Saddam was an ally helping Iraq in war with Iran - which was an unspeakable disaster.
http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAE...
I never will consider Mr Rumsfeld in any kind of good light. But his meeting with Saddam was not one of appeasement for certain. But, it still points out vividly the dangers of big public propaganda with those you know cannot be trusted.
Obama would be great fanfare and outward adulation. But, bottom line he is an Islamic apostate, probably lower in regard than a Jew. The smiles would be abundant, and the laughter would come later. As would the failure.
thx
John, you have made points
Submitted on May 17th, 2008 by janmbJohn, you have made points which should not be taken lightly. But correct me if I'm wrong but I thought Reagan met with IRAN----Madeline Albright let tiny-Kim display his army for her----Rumsfeld had a photo taken while shaking hands with Saddam---.
I'm no fan of Obama either and with his lack of foreign policy experience it might well be a disaster should he decide to meet with those who dislike us--which are many. He has been known to make some critical errors like "lying" and having the wrong mentors.
in a sense that is true ...
Submitted on May 17th, 2008 by John 2000however, for a president to meet face to face with those of such diabolical intent only becomes a propaganda victory for them:
1) by raising their regional stature and credibility
2) by stifling regional opposition
3) by de facto buying them more time for their announced purpose -- (eliminating Israel)
4) and so on and on and on
Such conversation must be done through low profile channels, and I am sure that it does go on.
I prefer Churchill's vividly succinct definition : "An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile hoping it will eat him last."
Furthermore : the blog topic included the words, "not JUST an appeaser" ...
Appease?
Submitted on May 17th, 2008 by AnonymousDo you even know what that word means?
Define appeasement in the context that you wish to use it and then we can have a discussion.
Hint: Talking with the enemy does not constitute appeasement. Appeasement depends on what you say to them.
