Why I'm Not So Wild About Senator Obama
Posted 15 weeks 1 day ago byDid you know that 22 % of West Virginia's voters said, when asked, that they didn't vote for the Senator from Illinois because he is black? What do you think the real percentage is ? 50% ?
Well, if Senator Obama is the nominee of my party, I will vote for him. And my biggest reservation about him is not that he is black, but that he is half WHITE. Yes, that's right folks. Senator Obama is the son of a white woman. And I really would have preferred not to have another white man in the oval office. As Hillary has been trying politely ( ok and sometimes not so politely) to tell us is that Senator Obama is actually the status quo.
Now , Senator Obama could have made me feel better had he not kicked his poor pastor to the curb, just because he wanted his ten minutes of fame. He could have said, look white people, there is a large population of black people who feel just as Rev Wright does. Are we going to ignore it? Are we going to start calling names? Or are we going to actually do something about it? How about education? How about making sure that every American has a stake in this wonderful country? How about ending segregation ? Oh, I know that you reactionaries out there will start with the insults. (Or what you assume makes me feel insulted) I'm a bleeding heart. I just want to throw money at a problem...Or its all the blacks' fault...or its all the Reverend''s fault,
But really, Senator Obama had his chance to show me that he wasn't just another white man playing the white man's game. It looks as if the status quo will continue.
Hillary we will miss you.

The real issue
Submitted on May 15th, 2008 by AnonymousThe real issue is that Obama is making the run for the presidency based on two things.
Hatred of Bush and the racial bias black vote.
The theme of the democratic party is Hate Bush and the Bush is the reason why things are bad today.
The truth is that the Democrats have had power in congress for sometime. They have abused their majority status to punish the Republicans and gridlock so that no meaningful legislation will pass. They are doing this and then blaming Bush for things getting worse.
The sad part of this is that people are that dumb when it comes to politics.
Granted ...
Submitted on May 15th, 2008 by John 2000that Mr Obama has missed 95% of real opportunities to set things in any way convincingly straight. The examples you cite could each have gone a positive step in the proper direction toward living up to his earliest rhetoric. He failed at every step along the way in those regards. I believe that alone accounts for a major portion of the 50% you pull from the hat.
i strongly believe that the other major contributor to the reaction of many whites is actually the 90%+ of black vote that Mr Obama has consistently garnered. That can only be viewed as a purely racial vote (if not 50% racist), and as you say, Obama is not black. I cannot accept that HRC could not get at least 30% of that demographic. Some blacks call him an apostate white trash. Personally, I do not like the man in the least. If the racial component in me had not been so stirred by the nature and facts of the man and the campaign, well, who knows ...
Some of your comments, by the way, lead me to think that you are a racial misogynist yourself.
