Why Hillary should want to be VP
Posted 22 weeks 4 days ago byLook at the background of recent presidents:
G. W. Bush -- governor (and son of president)
Clinton -- governor
G. H W. Bush -- vice president
Reagan -- governor
Carter -- governor
Ford -- vice president
Nixon -- governor
Johnson -- vice president
Kennedy -- senator
Eisenhower -- general
Truman -- vice president
The jump from senator to president is uncommon. Further, senators have not fared well in presidential elections. And she does not appear to be a position to become a governor.
So, if Hillary Clinton’s goal is to be president, she will be better off accepting the vice presidential nomination, if it is offered. That would increase the probability of the Democrats winning the presidency this year, improve her standing in the party, and likely set her up as the leading candidate in eight years.
Add to that the possibility that Obama will not serve out a full term. If a black man is elected president, there will be quite a few angry men with rifles. For a simple example, look at the stories trying to paint Obama as a muslim combined with those who want to tar him with the words of his Christian minister. People are already angry at him. The Secret Service does a good job, so the likelihood is low, I hope.
Being vice president would give her a change to cleanse herself of the some of the baggage accumulated by (and heaped upon) her during Bill’s years in office. She could become more of her own self.
Being a vice president gives her more power than being a senator (even if you are not Dick Cheney).
Again, if her goal is to become president, she should work towards being offered the vice presidential slot on the Democratic ticket.

I Can't See Gore Stooping to VP

Going backward is not part of the Senators agenda.

Will be the winning ticket. Gore has the experience. Obama has the inspirational personality. Gore needs the power of VP if he truly wants to impact global warming. We the People need this team to put us back on the right track. Gore will carry the other half of his party better than Hillary ever could. Its just a matter of making him understand how much America needs him at this very critical juncture. He knows Washington without being seen as a Washington insider. Gore needs to be the only person on Obama's list.
Gore has become a wealthy man and could spend the rest of his years doing what ever it is he wants. He was treated badly by those who now need his help. I hope he will forgive us and team up with Barack.
Sen. Clinton VP ? Michelle 1st Lady, NEVER
Submitted on May 8th, 2008 by CNHere's another, Obama frist term as president, Clinton VP, Next term they switch, Clinton President, Obama VP and so on...
What you propose is the ONLY way Dem's are going to pacify all the neccesary elements needed to win in Nov. 08.
But unfortunatly to many EGO's are involved.
Does anyone doubts who wares' the pants in the Obama family? I don't.
She's kept a low profile recently, but don't think that will not bring out the bang. Maybe then she might be "proud of being an america for once in her life"
I'd pay a fortune to watch Michelle, and Hillary face off in anything, especially a debate regarding PATRIOTISM!
This won't happen.

I really can't see that, but
Submitted on May 7th, 2008 by John 2000I really can't see that, but who knows what Dems will try? She would be better to go back to Senate where her stature will be higher, and come again in 2012, having learned so much recently.
