Iraq: Is Iran providing trainning and logistic support to Al-Sadr's Mahdi army?
Posted 11 weeks 3 days ago byBoth the CIA and the US army have been making the claim for sometime now. Iran's government is vehemently contesting the validity of it.
After a trip to Iran, and with a battle still going on in Sadr City, Prime minister Al-Maliki's government wants to get to the bottom of the issue. Today, it was announced that his government will put in place hearings to investigate the matter.
It is a positive indication that the Al-Maliki's government is taking a hard look at a critical issue for the future of Iraq and the growing split within factions of the Shiite community.
In the US elections context, Senator Obama is attacking Senator Clinton for using a " Bush diplomatic approach "when she made the claim that , in case of an attack on Israel by Iran, the US should retaliate and " obliterate Iran ". Is Senator Clinton making a stand for political purpose or does she really mean what she said ?

Sen. Clinton posturing on Iran?
Submitted on May 5th, 2008 by MercyphotographyI certainly hope she is, I think she is trying to sound tough and compete with Sen.McCain on that level.
I think it is a very bad idea to use terms like " obliterate " in any foreign policy context, it is not productive and, as matter of fact quite the opposite.
Clinton and Iran
Submitted on May 5th, 2008 by AnonymousSometime listening to Hillary Clinton, one feel that she is using the same " tough " language than the Bush administration. On Iran, I don't think she is posturing at all, she would probably do it ( obliterate Iran) if she had to.
