Fission Accomplished
Posted 2 weeks 1 day ago byIt is almost inconceivable that exactly five years have passed since George W. Bush had his magical “Mission Accomplished,” moment on board the USS Abraham Lincoln.
Ironically, Lincoln’s war, The Civil War, didn’t even last five years. The Civil War in Iraq is doomed to live on for far more years than that.
Bush has gotten us into an untenable quagmire in Iraq and John McCain has promised us he has no intention of getting us out of there in this century.
Already, the conflicts in Iraq and Afghahastan have gone on longer than any conflicts in American history except for the Revolutionary War and the War in Vietnam.
As scary as the past five years have been, the next five could be a whole lot more frightening.
McCain is champing at the bit to get his hands on our weapons of mass destruction. Under McCain, the draft will be reinstated, our presence in the Middle East will expand, and hostilities are certain to escalate.
It is not out of the question that in the McCain presidency, we can make the leap from “Mission Accomplished,” to “Fission Accomplished.”

Thoughts
woohoo for fission
Submitted on May 1st, 2008 by Minuteman CAi like the part about fission being the solution in the middle east.
It would save so many of our soldier's lives and still take care of achieving the ultimate goal: peace in the middle east.
Who would have thought the best solution would come from the left...
As an American and a proud veteran I thank you for solidifying my vote for McCain. The other guys don't stand a chance with the combined eloquence of you and Obama. Thanks again.
I think that's a little unfair

I also don't think "the draft will be reinstated" if he becomes President. As for our presence in the Middle East expanding and hostilities escalating" if he becomes President . . . that may happen. But those things may happen before November if we're not careful. President Bush has the reigns for a few more months, and the collision course with Iran seems almost inevitable now. Let's not forget that we've got to keep this President in check if there is to be any hope for the next one.
