Post-paleo horizons

[Cross-posted at McLarecana]

In a typically insightful post at Taki’s Paul Gottfried considers the lessons of the paleo project and looks ahead to the post-paleo one. While I see no reason to think that the latter will end better than the former, at least civilized right-wingers have a worthwhile political project to which they can look forward. At best we will contribute to a significant weakening of managerial tyranny; at worst we will deligitimize ourselves even more than had the paleos. In the middle is the possibility that our activity will have no effect in either direction. Paul is correct, however, to call our attention to changing historical contingencies, albeit with caution. Stay tuned, sportsfans.

Update: Daniel Larison and Jim Kalb give thoughtful reasons to hesitate accepting all of Gottfried's suggestions.

Update #2: Richard Spencer, Gerald Russello and W. James Antle III post; Jim Kalb reposts.
