Rev. Wright issue may give us a lot to chew on.
Posted 32 weeks 3 days ago byAs a naive midwestener, I had no idea that it was commonplace for racially charged messages like the Rev. Wright's to be preached in sermons in black churches throughout America. If this is true, as the national media reports after exploring the issue, and after listening to Sen. Obama, then we may have a while to go before we can ever get past our divisions.
It may be commonplace to hear these messages in black churches, but I think it is rare to hear this kind of thing in white churches, although I'm sure there are exceptions. The mear fact that we, the media, and national figures like Sen. Obama use the terms "white and black churches" show we have a long way to go. When will they ever become just churches?
It may explain why so many young adult black kids have a chip on their shoulder as they go out into the world. Is it possible some of them got it at church? If their young minds were unable to grasp these messages in the same context as their adult parents do, it is understandable that racially charged messages like we've heard from Rev. Wright have had great influence on their lives for many years.
After reading and listening to all the reporting on this issue over the past few weeks, it causes me to wonder. If it's Okay, and if it's the norm, and if it continues, who is really responsible for the continuing racial division in America? Maybe if this stuff wasn't preached in church, the next generation might grow up with the ability to make some progress towards ending the things that divide us. But if young black childen continue to be exposed to to these hate messages in church it's going to be difficult to make much progress.
Like they say, keep doing what your doing, you'll keep getting what your getting.

BLACK CHURCHES

black churches..
Submitted on April 8th, 2008 by sunshine308I am from the west and I too had no idea that this went on..but before I go on I want to differentiate between all black churches and churches that follow Cones black liberation theology.. Since this happened I searched to find an answer as to why .. I found ..after Wright himself divulged that he and his church embrace Cones theology, some facts that explain (definitely not excuse however,).. Wrights comments.. You see their beliefs, based on hate of whites and blame of all whites for everything that happened to blacks, is what Wright has indoctinated Obama with for over 20 years now..Because the hate of whites is an integral part of this theology, it explains Wrights comments, his anti-semitism, anti-Americanism, and anti-white statements..but it leaves not an ounce of credibility for Obama to deny he knew about these feelings when it is in fact part of his life, his religion..mentored by Wright for 20 years. Moreover, he had 20 years if he had not agreed with racism and hate for whites, to have left..to take a stand and show some integrity.. but he did not.. and that speaks very loudly to us about Obama's true heart . In addition to that, the reason that Obama could not denounce Wright and this church is that he chose this church, this pastor.. he holds Wright in high esteem and refers to him as "uncle"..he has influenced the people that Obama has met and received support from..if he denounced them he would appear to be a traitor and he would lose the votes and support of not only them but any other black liberation supporters..
Back to the church itself.. they have a bulletin board which is available on their internet web site.. they have anti-semetic, pro PLO, anti-American, anti-white literature and statements there.. this is not just a one time occurance on a Sunday sermon.. this is deep rooted hate and racism.. If this is not changed, if these ideologies do not disappear I dont see hope to mending what needs to be mended.. African Americans in todays society in America have every opportunity to make something of themselves.. it is evident every where.. and there are so many wonderful examples of blacks in every area of our lives that are excellent examples of this..this theology encourages that blacks feel depressed, trod upon and oppressed.. none of which "needs" to exist. As for the children.. yes.. it is sad to know that children are being indoctrinated with racism and hate.. that is what Obama is doing with his little girls.. shame on him!!.
Stopped going to white churches.

The rub or bone of
Submitted on April 8th, 2008 by AnonymousThe rub or bone of contention is that Barrack’s church has taken on the care , feeding and political indoctrination of a large segment of our black society by reporting our governments involvement in drug trafficking, poisoning our black population etc. Their evidence of these activities are presented on the recorded videos' (sold at Barrachs’ Church after church services) we have repeatedly seen on TV excerpts from those videos that describe in detail the assertions of Reverend Wright and Barrack Hussein Oboma and his associates that the USA govt. has resorted to programs of egregious racial repression.
So what are we going to do about this?
First we should understand that when a lie is told often enough and their targets or victims of their efforts are convinced –without a second opinion- that they are being oppressed, then the lies will gain feet and have as evidenced travel a long way.
Oboma first claimed of no knowledge of his churches accusations concerning our governments alleged activities as described by his church leaders . If he is successful in persuading the citizens of the United States of his ineptness in not knowing what his church has stood for, then we must believe he is just simple minded or honestly wants to disassociate himself from Reverend Wright and his church. Although he has lately admitted some knowledge of those little wright lies and has directed his frustrations to the white race as if they were somehow responsible for what has been going on in his church.
Hate is preached in churches everywhere
Submitted on April 7th, 2008 by AnonymousI stopped going to church, white churches, because of the hate preached against gays, jews, and democrats.
Seems to me that many use it as a cover to push a political agenda.
Most preachers, like Ted Haggart, are hypocrites and are no better than Muslim clerics like Al Sadr. Except instead of 73 virgins, Christians are promised everlasting life.
Same BS used to drive the masses into making uneducated decisions based on "faith".
