Obama's empty promises
Posted 45 weeks 2 days ago byI am so tired of hearing Obama promise to give money for this and start a fund for that. He's not the only one, but he seems to be the worst one. Where does he suppose he's going to get this money? Possibly he's found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but I'm guessing he's all words with no possibility of action in the future should he actually take the Presidency.
We have a huge federal deficit. We have problems with Social Security and tons of other things that need fixed. Right now Obama has a Global Poverty bill(S. 2433) out being fast-tracked through the process that could cost the US billions and billions of dollars.
Where is all this "magic" money supposed to come from? What makes Obama think the Congress is going to let some wet-behind-the-ears upstart do whatever he wants just because he's President? That's why there is separation of powers, and if Obama thinks his charisma will work on Congress, he is much mistaken.
We're all familiar with campaign promises and if we're smart we understand promises seldom are kept. If we add up all the promises and cash promises of Obama, we come up with a candidate that is all talk with little hope of action in the future.
One of us is dumb. Either he is dumb enough to believe his own hype, or I'm too dumb to see how he can pull it off. This guy has no business running for President at this time in his career, but evidently America doesn't care. Many seem to want to get in on the "feel-good" hype and overblown promises of a charismatic character with questionable religious and patriotic background.
We need to look below the charisma to the real man to see what he really is. For some reason, we're not getting a clear picture from the press, so it behooves us, as voters who care about our country to do our research, not just on Obama, but on ALL the candidates. Look below the promises to the reality as you prepare to cast your vote.

Since Obama is all about change, I'm thinking that maybe he won't need a V.P. After all, he's got Michelle! What more could the guy need????
hahahahahaha
I'll agree with Kansas Girl
Submitted on February 28th, 2008 by oldgoatI'll agree with Kansas Girl in that people can go to his web site and other places for detailed information on his ideas. It seems like the country is only interested in soundbytes instead of actually looking into things. I'm glad that someone has finally come along and has changed the outlook of voters from doom and gloom to hope and change. The other two candidates will be more of the same old story. What Obama does will depend on who he selects for advisors and what Congress will pass for him. All three candidates are going to promise more than they can deliver. It's just part of the election game.
Change or get out of the way
Submitted on February 26th, 2008 by AnonymousGet the message, if we the people don't like the way things are going, we have to change. If we don't change, then we have no one else to blame but ourselves. I would rather have an eager wet behind the ears person at the helm than the fat dogs who have put us in a collison course with failure...
Did any of the recent presidents, when first elected have the experience and leadership of Representative or senator who has had decades of time in politics. I don't think so. A few were govenors and a few had congressional experience... some like the boob in the house even had business experience and look what we got. The same old thing. Well it is time for change and if change comes from a slick talking wet behind the ear man, then so be it.
From your thoughts to the nation's ears
Submitted on February 26th, 2008 by ms. jYour thoughts are quite spot-on. I wish the nation would actually think before jumping on the "change" bandwagon. What a slick salesman he is - it's scary to think that people are so desperate for anything they believe the pretty words of a shallow campaign. It's sad.
from me
Submitted on February 25th, 2008 by ansuyoJust to let you know, I read and study all of the candidates and have been on all their web-sites. I still stand by my statements. Thanks for the input though.
obama's truth
Submitted on February 25th, 2008 by sunshine308you mean that we should go to Obama's web site to read more rhetoric than we have already heard from him about anything and everything?? goodie.. that's really unbiased .. thank you for the great help..
Obama couldn't explain his way out of a cardboard box.. he's so very inexperienced and a very weak person.. even his wife admits that she gets him to change his decisions every day.. on top of his very questionable background and connections with Farrakhad who is backing him.. (he's a racist who advocates his hate of whites and jews and gays and.. anyone but blacks)and this is an Islamic leader.. let's not forget that..then there is his Marxist mentor, his Islamic extremist relatives who are at this moment killing women and children in Kenya, this family background that he lied about.. who in the past OWNED SLAVES..his buddy REZKO who is in jail for taking kickbacks on Government jobs and who Obama said he never knew personally.. but that had fund raisers for Obama and actually worked on Obama's campaign finance comittee..they did real estate deals together and REZKO, the criminal, has paid into many of Obama's campaign .and while this slime ball of a REZKO had African Americans who lived in his run down low cost housing without heat or lights in Chicago in the winter.. Obama and REZKO enjoyed their hot toddies with their feet up on their leather ottomans. On top of that this Obama guy got stuck with this big mouth Momma named Michelle that should not be let out without the duck tape on.. she's a disaster.. besides putting her foot in her mouth every time she opens it... she needs to go to charm school for about 5 years.. and if she really REALLY does not feel any pride for America then go live some place else..like maybe Kenya.. bet she;d feel some pride in America afte that experience..
Now we have alleged charges of ..in recent years.. crack cocaine use and gay sex.. the backing of William Ayers, a guy with PLO attachments and who admitted bombing U.S. Federal Buildings..
So.. you see.. I dont think I would find any of this information on Obama's website.. silly girl.. that's why I have researched it myself.. today there was a ridiculous statement in a paper that the KKK are backing him.. it seems a bit much I must admit but you just never know.. stranger things have happened.
Yes.. we must investigate and then vote for the candidate that will do the best job for our country.. the candidate that is strongest and has the most experience with the best results.. that is Hillary.. she has devoted her life to the service of this country, to women, children, African Americans and underprivileged, education and health issues mostly, but she has been presented with awards and honored here and around the world for her great humanitarian work.. she already has relationships with many heads of state and governments and she has the know how and experience to get busy now.. not after 4 years of training.. we dont need a preacher.. we dont need a lot of false promises and pie in the sky, magic wands and soul healing.. but most of all WE DONT NEED A DAMN PUPPET GOVERNMENT RUN BY THE MASSACHUSETTS BULLDOGS,.. Kerry, Kennedy and who knows maybe he will make Patrick the vice president for lending him all those speeches..
You're not too dumb. . .
Submitted on February 25th, 2008 by KansasGirlIt's just an incredibly complex process, one that has a million different variables. But there are economists who do this for a living, and it can be done.
You are absolutely right that we need to look beyond the outside trappings of every candidate, including Obama. I encourage you to recognize that America does care, an enormous amount, about this election, however - so much so that nothing is going unchallenged. That's a good thing, but it means there's as much disinformation out there as truth. It may seem biased to ask that you look at Obama's website for more substantive, concrete answers to your questions, but that's where Obama's campaign has chosen to put them. Instead of trying to crush such a complex issue into a soundbyte - which could never do the issue justice - they're using soundbytes to inspire and the website for those who really want to know more. It's got spin, sure, but you'll be able to see through that, and I think you'll be impressed with how readily Obama can explain detailed plans to get things done. It'll also put to rest some of your fears about his religion and patriotism, if that's really what you're worried about.
