Mrs. Obama vs. Mrs. McCain
Posted 45 weeks 2 days ago by"Greetings, I guess because it is a slow news day, Michelle Obama is
getting criticized for saying: For the first time in my adult life, I
am really proud of my country."
Some are suggesting she was unpatriotic in her statement, Mrs. McCain
saying she has always been proud of this country. While this
argument and issue is one of the stupidest things to make an issue
out of, it begs the question, Since both of them are at least 45
years old..
Let's go back to 1963:
*Was Mrs. McCain proud of this country when Blacks were living under
Jim Crow?
* Was Mrs. McCain proud of this country when Blacks were being lynched?
*Was Mrs. McCain proud of this country when it stripped Ali of his
title?
*Was Mrs. McCain proud of this country when 4 little girls were
killed in Birmingham?
*Was Mrs. McCain proud of this country during the Tuskeegee Experiment?
*Was Mrs. McCain proud when male astronaunts were sent to the moon
and the female astronaunts who trained along side them were shuttled
into absurity?
Let's move to the 70s:
*Was Mrs. McCain proud of this country that women were stereotyped
into stay at home moms, with no sight of getting into the Boardroom?
*Was Mrs. McCain proud of this country when women were forced into
shady clinics for pregnancy choices?
*Was Mrs. McCain proud of this country when Vietnam Vets came home to
homelessness because of no acknowledgment of PTSD?
And the 80s:
*Was Mrs. McCain proud of this country when it supported the
Apartheid government of South Africa
*Was Mrs. McCain proud of the Iran-Contra scandal?
*Was Mrs McCain proud of the S&L scanddal?
The 90s:
*Was Mrs. McCain proud of the lack of intervention in Rwanda?
* Was Mrs. McCain proud of the racists immigration policy toward Haiti?
C'mon.. outside of the fact that one is reaching for straws to even
criticize such a statement, as an African-American Woman I am sure
there are more days when one felt ashamed of the government action of
this country than proud... I guess that is the difference between
Mrs. McCain and Mrs. Obama."
Another Brother writes:
"...You forgot a few "honorable mentions" :-)
"Was Mrs McCain proud of this country that produced the "tech bubble"
economy that effectively turned a multitude of people's 401k's into 201k's
overnight?"
"Was Mrs McCain proud of this country that saw a crack epidemic of
historical proportions? "
"Was Mrs McCain proud of this country that this country DENIED the fact that
Desert Storm Syndrome was indeed a medical condition?"
"Was Mrs McCain proud of this country when more Blacks were in the penal
system than any other time in history?"
"Was Mrs McCain proud of this country that encouraged insider trading,
making a multitude of "techno-millionaire s overnight?"
"Was Mrs McCain proud of this country a black man was dragged to his death
behind a pickup truck in TX?"
"Was Mrs McCain proud of this country that watched the cost of healthcare
rise geometrically? "
"Was Mrs McCain proud of this country that watched uniformed policemen beat
Rodney King?"
"Was Mrs McCain proud of this country that nurtured T. McVeigh and watched
him commit a little good ole fashioned American Terrorism?"
"Was Mrs McCain proud of this country that backed the scams A.K.A. "Contract
with America, Welfare Reform, etc.?"
I could go on, but why?"

What now?
Submitted on March 7th, 2008 by AnonymousWhat do you think about the "Hillary is a Monster" comments made by the Obama staffer?
words are important.
Submitted on February 26th, 2008 by sunshine308yes..you are SO RIGHT.. If Mrs McCain or Hillary Clinton had said anything remotely close to that statement there would be no end of bad press and humiliation and repercussions.. but ..it was said by the "mouth".. and because that belongs to Obama.. we are not for reasons unknown to most of us.. allowed to tread near any waters of critiquing these people for fear it is misconstrued as racist. This is in fact reverse racism and I for one am sick of it.. when is this country going to wake up and start acting responsibly.. especially the press.. get your heads out of your butts guys.
Words are important
Submitted on February 26th, 2008 by ansuyoWords are very important, especially words that give us a clue to the real feelings of Mrs. Obama.
As far as the other -- certainly things have happened in this country that I am not proud of -- that's a given. However, I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PROUD OF MY COUNTRY. The US is a great country and it's come a long way. We are generous and committed to doing right, even though we don't always do so. The good stuff about the US outweighs anything bad that has happened. The US is not perfect, but I am proud of her none-the-less and have been for almost 50 years.
This is not a non-issue, this is a pivotal issue, especially in light of questions about Obama's own patriotism. He always has an answer, but I'm not buying it. Had Mrs. McCain or Sen. Clinton said that it would be a huge issue to everyone, so why is Mrs. Obama so special that her words can be explained away?
Just a thought...
Gotta love it...

Thank you, sunshine308, for hearing what you wanted to hear from Obama's wife. Do tell us, with certainty, when she has said to anyone that she does not like this nation. I'm sure you've got a date and exact wording, right?
mrs obama's mouth
Submitted on February 26th, 2008 by sunshine308Hey there Oldgoat.. well she said "she had never in her adult life had pride in American".. and those are HER WORDS.. The problem is you Obaminites never take responsibility for anything.. you just try to always make excuses for Obama's..no matter what they do or say that Americans take as offensive ..you have your heads up your butts..If you would scrutinize your candidate and find out the facts rather than believe all the hype and b.s that has been given you you might feel differently. Now that I have said that.. you said EXACTLY THIS IN YOUR RESPONSE TO MY COMMENTS..
"Now maybe it wasn't the most politically correct way of saying it but most people should be able to see that she hadn't ever been proud of her country."
So, I will agree with you.. you are absolutely correct. thank you for bringing it to our attention.
where did Mrs Obama say that
Submitted on February 26th, 2008 by oldgoatwhere did Mrs Obama say that she never was proud of the country? Taking things out of context is one thing but an outright lie is another. Mrs. Obama said that for the first time she was really proud of her country because of the change in the people in wanting to get excited about politics. Now maybe it wasn't the most politically correct way of saying it but most people should be able to see that she hadn't ever been proud of her country. Most people would be able to see it for what the intent was of being really proud of the difference that has come about in this election and the difference of people in believing that things could get better instead of the doom and gloom.

And if you think that what one spouse says automatically reflects the thoughts and feelings of the other, or better yet, can be controlled by the other. . . well, you've never been married.
obama/mccain wives
Submitted on February 25th, 2008 by sunshine308Well I think you are ridiculous.. having pride in one's country and it's peoples does not mean we agree with every act of criminals, racists or extremists.. what a silly hypothesis.. I do know one thing..Mrs. McCain is a lady that says she loves her country.. OUR country.. Mrs. Obama says she does not have pride in it..never has..so why doesnt she go live somewhere else and take her marxist husband with her.. we surely do not need them here.. Does that mean Mrs. Obama should be proud of every offence comitted by black people in this country?? of course not.. racism is never right..no matter what side you are on.. but Mrs Obama did point out in her thesis that there was a big problem with racism between blacks and blacks.. the educated, working and affluent blacks vs the uneducated blacks. You are so ridiculous that you make it sound as though Mrs. McCain was making the laws and dishing out the sentences at the time.. get real!!!
