The Three Little Pigs never stood a chance

First they came for the cartoonists in Denmark. But I'm not a cartoonist, nor a Dane, so I said nothing.

Then they came for the Three Little Pigs in Britain. But I'm not a pig, nor British, so I said nothing.

Now they've come for the banks in The Netherlands -- the Piggy Banks.

Knorbert the piglet has been dropped as the mascot of Fortis Bank after it decided to stop giving piggy banks to children for fear of offending Muslims. ...

Pigs are considered an unclean animal by Muslims and Jews, and Knorbert was culled after seven years as the Fortis mascot. A spokesman told the Dutch media that “Knorbert does not meet the requirements that the multicultural society imposes on us”.

Pardon the cliche of a set up, but I'm not Dutch. Yet people who care about a free society have to say something. European elites might think they are being "multicultural." But does it ever dawn on them to ask their Muslim population to give a little ground on the "multi" part of that platitude? A culture that is unwilling to call BS on grievance when it comes to nursery rhymes and places to store pennies ... well, is pretty hopeless.

And note, please, the absurdity of this multi-culti journalist looping the Jews in on this nonsense. Perhaps, technically, the Jewish faith finds pigs "unclean." Yet the Jewish people have found the strength to endure life in Europe for thousands of years. Piggy banks? The Three Little Pigs? Ham and cheese touching on a deli plate? Maybe not kosher, but not a reason for European Jews to complain.

Yet, again. When the "Muslim Street" is aggrieved, there will be blood. Just ask the friends and family of Theo van Gogh.
