There is?
Millions of Democrats
Submitted on February 21st, 2008 by AnonymousI think that history does not align with these from-the-hip generalizations.
I am an independent who tends to vote Democrat not because I want government to meet every need, but because I don't enjoy living beholden to powerful oligarchies where I do not have a voice.
I also value a healthy and educated population. With people getting sicker and falling behind the rest of the world in education, I don't see how an every man for himself attitude gets us anywhere. Some things actually do affect us all.
I also believe that regressive taxation is harmful to the American Dream.
I also disagree with the GOP's strange priorities where the bedroom gets regulated but experimental genes and hormones in our food do not.
And then there's government establishment of religion.
And Bush's war. And torture. And more secrecy than the Kremlin.
That said, this Hillary video really is sickening.
OK

Based on the TV show
Submitted on February 21st, 2008 by Cycle_GeezerDon't read too much into this ear piercing TV theme parody. Since it was rather loosely based on the Laverne and Shirley opening theme it was probably going to have the "Make all our dreams come true" line in it regardless of who it favored. I do wish someone with Photoshop skills had managed to make Bill into Lenny and inserted him into the video stream though.
Making our dreams come true!
Submitted on February 21st, 2008 by Jim LakelyUgh. What wretched singing and gag-inducing hero worship. Hillary will be "working all day, yes all day! ... making our dreams come truuuuuue, for me and youuuuuuuuu!"
Not to take this love song too seriously, but that part about Hillary having the abillity to make "our dreams come true" is a bit troublesome to me, and points to a clear dividing line between red and blue in this country.
Millions of Democrats actually believe that politicians can make their dreams come true. And how can you not feel sad for these poor lumps who are apparently sitting around waiting for government to not only meet their every need, but make real their dreams and aspirations.
Not a single Republican I've ever known thinks that it is government's responsibility to make his or her dreams come true. It would never occur to them, since they are going about the hard work of reaching for their dreams on their own -- and wishing the government would take less of their paychecks so as to ease the burdern.
And I doubt we'll see such videos worshipping McCain in song. Celebrating him? Maybe. Worshipping? Nah. It's just not in the nature of we Republicans. The Jesus-like photos of Reagan that we all have in our dining rooms smiling down at our bounty is enough.
Sound bit desperation

Where is Simon Cowell when you need him?

It's even more horrifying on video
Submitted on February 21st, 2008 by BenI heard the audio of both spots on, I think, Michael Medved's radio program. If ever there was reason to change the channel (or, in my case, hit my computer's mute button), look no further. But the video takes the experience to a more horrifying level. Couldn't one of the other Black Eyed Peas pitch in? Or are they all in the Obama camp?
jeeze

Submitted on February 21st, 2008 by JoelOn the other hand, it's been viewed 7,300 times. I'm not sure, though, if that works for or against the Clinton campaign.
