My political leanings are socially conservative and politically and economically libertarian. What that means is that I believe in tradition and right and wrong, but people are free to make what I would consider to be foolish choices - they just shouldn't expect me to protect them from the consequences.

I'm a law librarian. I have a JD and an MLS. I like books and ideas and follow politics pretty closely.

I love federalism - I think our Founding Fathers were geniuses (or divinely inspired). They set up a system that is deliberately designed to be slow-moving and inefficient. How amazingly prescient of them!

I prefer my government services to come from local entities. I don't expect Uncle Sam to love me or take care of me - although the federal government does have some important duties.

While I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mitt Romney is not my candidate of choice. I am devastated that Fred Thompson didn't make a bigger splash - he would have been such a great president!
