Submitted on January 22nd, 2008 by BenI think Hillary Clinton wants to win. And the way to win is to distinguish herself from the opponent most dangerous too her. What struck me about Hillary's performance at the debate last night was her subtle appeal to the far left of her party. The line against Obama is that he talks liberal, but shills for corporations. That was what all that talk of taking money from insurance companies and shirking politically sensitive votes was about. I don't know whether it will work -- I'm not part of the Democratic base -- but I understand part of the rationale.
