Time to moof on, America

Is it just me, or does every new trend and innovation require a goofy catchphrase? The Chicago Tribune has a story today about professionals (like me!) who are not tied to an office. The name for these people is "moofers" and the verb what what we do is "moofing" -- as in "mobile out of office." As opposed to hoofing to an office every day.

Thanks to the story, I now know that moofing is not exactly a new concept in this fast-moving information economy of ours. (How could I have missed this emerging trend? Possibly I was working at the time.) I also know that moofers have a fairly robust online community. What's not the like?

The word! Moof. Moofing. Moofers. Ugh. I hereby nominate the word and its derivatives for the 2009 banished word list. Can I get a second?
